Tahoe Rim Trail Riders This page is to connect those who ride, or want to ride the Tahoe Rim Trail

This page was created to fill a need expressed to me by a gentleman who attended an event put on by the Tahoe Rim Trail Association. I sat on a panel of riders who were there to share our experiences of riding the trail. He came up to me afterward and asked how he could find other riders...and so the story goes..

Hi to all of you...Spring is here..and that means, the trail will begin to expose herself over the next few months.. Will anyone who has ridden up to the TRT from a lower elevation please report in on snow levels? Thanks.

To all my friends who hike, ride, or bike in the Spooner Lake area..here is an update on upcoming trail closures.
Hi everyone,
Here is a bulletin that will affect us all for the next 6 weeks:
A road and erosion control project will be engaged beginning June 1 to do drainage and structural improvements to the lower North Canyon Rd. During construction days/times the road will be closed from where it begins, just below Spooner day area, to 2 miles above in North Canyon, near the turnoff for the Wildcat cabin.
The construction times are:
Monday thru Thursday
7:30am to 5:30pm
Construction should wrap up in the second week of July.
Friday, Sat and Sun will be business as usual.
the roadway will be passable after 5:30pm and before 7:30am on working days - heavier work may take a bit longer to cover up on some days...
During construction there will be no safe passage thru N Canyon so trips from the north can only be out and backs. Biking is essentially cut off on these days from the south (Spooner) because there is no access available for North Canyon or the Rim Trail. Hikers/EQ's can do trips on the Rim Trail but no return via North canyon can be allowed, including Marlette Lake Trail.
Please check back with me if you have any questions.
