This island fort is named after a province in the Netherlands and was once made of wood, but was torn down and rebuilt completely with brick. It never actually witnessed any major warfare, was declared a National Monument in 1999, and the ruins are a tourist attraction. Can you name where in the world this is? This Tahai Ceremonial Complex and UNESCO World Heritage Site was restored in 1974 by the late Dr. William Mulloy, an American archaeologist. Built at the dawn of the 20th century, Switzerland's Landwasser Viaduct is an absolute miracle of engineering. Surrounded by gorgeous Alpine scenery, this single track railroad stops at several mountain villages and is the only railway to earn a spot on the UNESCO World Heritage List. And such great heights! Peles Castle sits at the foot of the Bucegi Mountains and was commissioned by King Carol I in 1873 and completed in 1883. The castle was the first in Europe to be entirely lit by electrical current, and the first movie projection in Romania took place in the castle's Theater Room in 1906!
