📌 Vintgar Gorge, Slovenia 🇸🇮

If you one day end up near Lake Bled, you definitely need to make a pit stop at Vintgar Gorge which is located around 4km away from Bled town.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
It's a 1,6 km long gorge with various wooden bridges crossing through the river and alongside it. You can't help but feel like you're walking in a fairytale where water is crystal clear and you are surrounded by nothing else but nature 😍🏞
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The entrance fee is 10€ for adults, 3€ for children (6-15 years old) and they offer a discount for students as well. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
If you're visiting from Bled, you can catch a shuttle bus which runs from Bled to Vintgar gorge several times a day for a small fee. You can also go with a car if you have one or simply walk to the gorge if you don't mind or don't have any other option (like we did!) 😁

Travel is a big part of my life 🌎

Over the years, I experienced different types of travelling (volunteering, work-related, exchange studies, vacations, etc) and I’ve gained incredible experience along the way as well as meeting amazing people and learning more about different cultures. So it’s no secret that travel is one of my top priorities when it comes to life decisions and money.

Unfortunately, not everything about travel is glamorous. Tourism as such is an ever-growing industry which continues to harm the planet and our environment daily. Overcrowded cities, polluted beaches and oceans, destruction of cultural monuments and unethical wildlife tourism are just some of the examples of negative travel impacts. I'm not going to lie, I wasn't the biggest fan of Ljubljana when I first visited it. Yes, the old town and the castle are charming but after visiting so many European cities and towns, the magic of narrow streets and cobblestone streets starts to falter a bit 🙈
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
During the first time, it took me around 2 hours to see the whole Ljubljana (the main attractions) and I was left feeling a bit disappointed 😕
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Plus, waiting for a bus for hours in the middle of the night probably didn't help my mood 😅
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
However, the second time I visited Ljubljana, I was pleasantly surprised with the whole atmosphere of the city. I spent more time wandering various streets, tasting traditional dishes and drinking wine 🍷 (might have been the main cause 😂) and it made me appreciate Ljubjana more than the first time 😊🙈

I know the majority of you are all sick and tired of hearing about coronavirus, so I won't even get into that topic.

There are many official informational sources that will provide all the information you need about the situation in the world. I am not a doctor, nor do I have enough knowledge about the topic to even begin giving advice for people. So I don't feel comfortable trying to write blog posts or even long media messages about the topic because of that 🙅‍♀️

Never thought that I'll be painting on real canvases and sipping wine while travelling! 👩‍🎨🍷

But that's exactly what we did in Barcelona and I absolutely LOVED it 🙏

The class we attended was hosted by Arte Bar and it was so much fun. Everything from canvases, supplies to Spanish tapas are included in the price. And you can even get a glass of wine for 1.5 EUR or the whole bottle if you fancy for 5 EUR.

The best thing is that you don't need any prior experience which is perfect if you don't have a clue about painting but still want to relax and spend a nice evening with locals in a foreign city 😅
