Everything was awesome. We have no complains at all. Your staff is super organized! The vans picked us up very promptly and the drivers were super nice and helpful. We loved that we received all the entrance tickets in our hotel, and it was very good that you left us a bottle of water too! All the guides were super helpful too, and we learned a lot with them. If I go back to Peru once again, I'm 100% sure that I will do my turism with you again!

This is a little summary of our unforgettable trip to PERU organized by Ramiro Ruiz de Castilla and his wife Claudia from Blue Train Expeditions in Lima. We had received the address from our friend Gabriela who is living in Lima.
Peru is a huge country and therefore the theme of our trip was: LESS IS MORE! LIMA-CUSCO-SACRED VALLEY-MACHUPICCHU-BELMOND ANDEAN EXPLORER TRAIN from CUSCO to LAKE TITICACA stood on our program. Ramiro did a perfect job, and we were very happy with his proposals and the whole organization.
The hotels we had chosen were absolute unique, each had his own style and everywhere we met very friendly and helpful people who liked their profession a lot.
LIMA: BOUTiQUE Hotel B, situated in the Barranco quarter, the charming hotel is decorated with modern paintings from Peruvian artists, a generous afternoon tea is included in the price and not to forget the beautiful roof garden.
CUSCO: Hotel BELMOND MONASTERIO, a monastery from 16th century with a marvellous courtyard in the heart of Cusco, we fell in love with it.
URUBAMBA/SACRED VALLEY: Tambo del Inka Hotel, the hotel has a very interesting architecture and the beautiful large room made us very happy.
AGUAS CALIENTES: INKATERRA MACHU PICCHU Hotel: A fantastic paradise within a huge garden where you can go for lovely guided walks and look for orchids and beautiful birds.
PUNO/LAGO TITICACA: Libertador Hotel: a very modern building in white with an unforgettable view over the UROS islands.
We were lucky and got a cabin in the new Belmond Andean Explorer Train departing from Cusco to the Lago Titicaca, a special experience with a fantastic kitchen on the train and an attentive service. The Panorama wagon, the very efficient young man playing piano and saxophone in the bars, the Raqchi excursion and the sunset at La Raya were additional highlights.
We had planned to visit MISTURA (a very famous event for the best cooks in Peru). Unfortunately, some weeks before leaving Switzerland Mistura was cancelled. It should take place at a later date. But instead, Ramiro organized a visit to a local market where we could taste local products (especially the wonderful fruits) and afterwards we had at a very famous restaurant a demonstrative cooking class with some of the exquisite specialities, the land of the Inkas, has to offer and lunch of these dishes. A perfect alternative!
All the guides we met (LIMA (Carmen) /CUSCO including Sacred Valley and MachuPicchu (a very remarkable site, certainly not to miss) (Lalo), Belmond Andean Explorer/Lake Titicaca and Jeanine for the visit to the Sillustani Burial tombs (on the way to the Juliaca Airport (an absolute must) were very efficient, with an enormous knowledge of the rich history Peru has, fluent in English, we were very pleased to meet them.

This trip to Peru was an absolute success! We do hope to come back, and wish Ramiro and Claudia all the best for the future and a lot of curious customers.

The Cordillera Blanca is an incredible destination for trekking and climbing tours in Peru. La Cordillera Blanca es un destino increíble para excursiones de caminata y para escalar en Perú. Cuenta con abundante flora y fauna nativa, es rica culturalmente, tiene fascinantes ruinas de varias culturas pre-incas y conserva algunos restos de infraestructura incaica.

Today we were in one of the best restaurants in Lima - Peru named El Señorio de Sulco. We tried delicious dishes like La Causa, El Cebiche and El Lomo Saltado. Honestly the food is delicious. Come and try them! This restaurant is part of the Culinary Tour we offer at Blue Train Expeditions
