Being at the right time in the right spot to experiencing such a special moment -
so happy for the people. 😊

Observing the whale’s body language
it’s clear that the whale was not as excited and curious as the humans and is avoiding them : ) You’ll see a subtle and gentle non-agressive tail fluke swipe towards the person that indicates a sign ‘go away’ .This behavior of avoidance state needs to be respected and animal left alone immediately.

Shark nets and Drum lines need to be removed from the ocean without negotiation. They are uselessly ineffective but feeding narrative of fear and harm and kill sea creatures. The ocean is their world, that we need to respect, protect and honour all sea creatures. Their preservation is of utmost importance.

We recognise that Shark Nets were once invented with the good intentions to protect humans from shark attacks.
But nowadays it is evident and fact that
- Shark Nets are not functional.
- Shark nets are detrimental to marine life and ecosystems.
- Shark Nets project false beliefs of safety.
- Shark Nets trigger and keeping people’s fears alive (associated with dangerous zone).

Another fact is that humanity has evolved in general and it is our responsibility to saying goodbye to outdated practices that are not in alignment with our current way of living and being. Outdated practices are destructive.

Every sacrificial act (consciously doing things differently than before) is an rewarding act, because it contributes to the greater good of the ecosystem (and humanity).

Let’s say “Goodbye Shark Nets.”

NSW shark nets do not protect ocean users and harm marine life. Tell the NSW Minister for Agriculture that you would like shark nets removed in favour of effective scientifically supported technologies.

Exciting News

We have had a report from an ORRCA member of a Humpback Whale sighting in Terrigal yesterday! This is exciting news to share ☺️

The timing of Humpback Whales migrating north varies from year to year but typically we see them in NSW waters from May, with the majority travelling through from June to August.

We love hearing about Humpback sightings so please keep a lookout, take some photos and tag so we can share the love!

And remember whilst out there Whale Watching, if you see any whales in distress please call the ORRCA Hotline on 02 9415 3333.

One of the most frequently asked questions from customers is what everyone can do to contribute to the thriving of whale species. One simple step is becoming aware of human made products that contain krill and then avoiding its purchase. Krill can be found in supplements, in beauty products. Farmed fish are often fed with harvested krill to emphasise the broader impact of consumer choices on marine ecosystems. It is all about the little lifestyle choices we make back at home and our desire for a peaceful thriving world that sets everything into motion into a new direction of life.

Before you buy a fresh batch of omega-3 supplements or farmed salmon, have a listen.

My intention for the year was DEPTH and l got what I asked for. While I didn't go through many emotional lows, recurring events prompted a thorough exploration in depth leading me to reassess and reshape my thoughts, beliefs, and stories about .

This journey allowed me to gain a deeper understanding of myself and in many areas of life in general. It’s amazing.

Being in Sydney, I collaborated on films with a talented cast and crew, contributing to and celebrating successes.

Reconnecting with the whales in Sydney this year, including one I met in Tonga years ago, added a special touch to the year. A realisation the depth of connection I have with the Tongan tribe is still present.

2023 stands out as a year of mastering my energetic and emotional alignment.

Expressing gratitude for the depth of 2023,
rising now into a state of Blissful EMPOWERMENT for 2024.

Wishing Peace, Love, Freedom, Health for all beings and the world.

Take a moment to be aware, to acknowledge your existence.
Feel the beating of your heart, the rhythm of your breath, and the sensations in your body.

Love yourself and love others, without judgment or expectation. Just be, without the need to achieve, to prove yourself, or to impress. Embrace the essence of who you are.

For in this state of presence, you will find peace and contentment. You will discover the beauty in every moment, and the richness of life.

So, be present, be aware, and just be.

The mystery of whales birth
This video is one of the first docu a whale giving birth. It is pretty rare sighting, but as humans desire more interaction with whale encounters, the chances of witnessing a birth increases.

In my years working as a whale swim guide in the South Pacific, living on Treasure Island, I swam with a pregnant humpback whale that hung tail out “tail sailing” motionless behind the island for two days. She was so close to shore.

On the third night, I heard her giving birth in a sheltered part of the island. There were these weird noises and grunts echoing through the night that went on for hours. I was standing in the water, and I could see the whale logging on the ocean surface under the light of the full moon. The mist from her blow was visible. It was such a special moment to be there, hearing her and just imagine what’s happening a few hundred meter offshores.

The next day, when I went into the water to check out a potential whale for a swim, I identified it was the same pregnant female from the day before. That's when I saw the tiny newborn calf with folding markings and floppy dorsal fun. Of course, I left the water immediately, not interrupting their precious bonding space once I realized it was only a few hours old.

For the first time ever, cinematographers capture a humpback whale birth before the 5000 mile voyage to their feeding grounds. In Maui, and worldwide, scient...
