Hurricane Helene caused devastating loss for many in our community that has been compounded by the economic crisis of no tourism dollars for the last 3 weeks.

We wanted to give everyone a status update on . Miraculously, our cabin appears to have sustained little damage and the property is just in need of a little clean up from tree debris. Our first priority in the immediate aftermath was confirming our team and their families were fine. We are grateful to report they are.

We have made the decision to halt bookings from Friday Sept. 27 through October 13. We want to follow the guidance of local officials asking for time to allow recovery efforts to take priority over leisure travel. Anyone booked during this time should have been contacted and either rescheduled or fully refunded.

We will keep everyone updated on when we can begin to offer our home again. If your stay is in November or later please kindly wait for an update after October 13. We remain relentlessly hopeful that Boone will be operational soon.

We recommend and for the most up to date information from the town. For now it’s better to stay home. When the time is right we hope travelers will make plans to visit as so many locals rely on tourism dollars to sustain and support their families.

Local Friends - if you need help 🖤

Our hearts are broken by the level of devastation in Boone and the surrounding mountains of Western NC. Please remain patient, do not travel into the area and keep this community in your prayers.

We appreciate all who have reached out and we wish we had an update to share. We cannot access the A-Frame and have no power, so our cameras are inaccessible. Once we are able to get eyes on the property we will share an update.

The back wall of windows is one of my favorite elements of /\ ​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​They let in a ton of gorgeous, natural light during the day and come golden hour they reflect back a lovely Carolina blue sky surrounded by trees. Things are greening up and Rhododendron season is just around the corner 🌿

Winter is coming and so is cozy season☕️​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​Planning your Winter getaway? We’re getting a lot of questions and Winter Bookings! Here’s our tips and tricks for a Boone Stay during Winter:

🚖: Roads are well-maintained to the a-frame, but it’s winter, and conditions can change fast! AWD / 4WD is a must when visiting and there is a chance of snow. When in doubt, park at the bottom of our drive like we do to make sure you can get in and out.
🛷: Our fam loves for tubing. Head to Beech Mountain for free sledding.
⛸️: is our pick for Ice Skating
🎿: If you want to take a day trip to ski, you can get to any of the three mountains ( & ) in about 30 minutes
🎱: I cannot promise or predict snow during your visit. If I had that kind of power I would be ruling the world 😜
👾: The a-frame has a vintage multicade, 2 smart TV's with streaming, loads of books, games and puzzles plus a hot tub for a cozy day snug at home.
🥞: Be prepared - it's always a good idea to pack your layers and outer wear in case winter weather hits! Bring enough food and beverages in case you need to stay put for a day or two.
❄️: Trip insurance is a smart plan for winter travel! We do not offer refunds on cancellations for weather as that is beyond our control. If you need more flexibility to change your plans last minute this is the way to go.

January 2024 is just about full but we have plenty of February dates to come play in the powder☃️
