Here's a meal with vibrant color to brighten up yet another gray and rainy day. COBB SALAD is today's special.
We will be out at Parkview UMC: Turtle Lake, WI 11:30-6 today despite the weather. The Summer Solstice event has been cancelled due to the weather.
We also have fresh baked Whoopie Pies with vanilla, chocolate buttercream or a vegan peanut butter cream.

20/06/2024

The Venture Downtown committee has made the difficult decision to CANCEL their Summer Solstice event scheduled for Friday, June 21st, due to the predicted storms and rain. We were unable to secure a place large enough in town for all our scheduled vendors and entertainers, and our guests.

The Turtle Lake Museum opens for the season this weekend, June 8th and 9th. The village and its businesses have changed over the last 125 years. Pictured here is Flottum’s Red and White grocery store circa 1952. Prices on the posters read: baby food .25, Skippy peanut butter .37, peaches .35 for 2 lbs, grape jam .37, Fels Naptha soap .27. The value of $1.00 in 1952 equals $11.83 today. That’s 11.83 times more than it was in 1952. Visiting the Turtle Lake Museum however is unchanged. Admission is still free but your donations help to keep the doors open. It’s an excellent family friendly activity that describes Turtle Lake’s interesting and varied past. The Museum is open the 2nd and 3rd weekends of the month from June through September. The hours are 10:00 to 4:00 both Saturday and Sunday.

Addiction does not discriminate

Nobody, no family, no community, is immune to the effects of alcoholism or drug dependence. The opioid epidemic has only made this worse. But there is a solution, and often it starts with asking for help.

Join William C. Moyers for a community conversation about addiction and what to do about it. Moyers, the vice president at Hazelden Betty Ford, uses his own story to highlight what it takes to find help and live in recovery free from substances.
