As they say, "all good things must come to an end". It's been a real honor and a privilege to organize TT-East over the past 12 years. The wonderful people I've met and the amazing adventures we've shared have given me memories that I will cherish for the rest of my life.

Thank you to all of the participants and fans who have supported TT-East over the years, I may be the one who planned the trips but all of you are the reason why it's been the awesome and special event that it was.

TThanks again and keep on driving 'em like you stole 'em.

Hopefully we won't have to deal with any of this at TT-East this year. This is from 2018, this tree fell less than 10 minutes before we got there. The truck carrying the excavator just happened to be traveling on this road while we were stopped and figuring out what to do.

I was saddened to hear about the recent passing of Hans Isler.

Hans was the organizer of TT-East 2006-2009, two of which I had the pleasure of attending. He was also a great guy and was highly respected in the TT community especially among the original MK1 owners.

One of the more interesting tunnels I've seen during my adventures with my TT. This one is part of the TT-East 2021 route.

Backbone Rock gets its name from a spur ridge on Holston Mountain that ends in a bend of Beaverdam Creek. In 1901 a tunnel was blasted through the Rock and railroad tracks laid through it to connect Shady Valley with Bristol Virginia. The railroad was used to haul lumber and ore from Shady Valley. The Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) did a great deal of work on the site in the 1930s.

The hole blasted through railroad tunnel was 20 feet in length. It is interesting to note that after the hole was blasted out the train engine's smoke stack couldn't pass through. The tunnel's top had to be hand-chiseled to solve the problem.

7 more months until TT-East 2021! Show your TT some love this Valentine’s day and make it a promise to bring it to this year’s amazing journey along some of the best roads that the southern Appalachians has to offer.

Since 2007, I've planned and led almost 19,000 miles of TT drives through 22 states. Most of the people who have attended my drives and events have come back multiple times, join us this year and see why that is.
