It has been a rough couple years for all of us in the hospitality and tourism biz, but we look forward with anticipation to our 2022 season and we cannot wait to meet all our guests.

We weren’t sure if our floating barrels would have a season this year. It started late and we were held back a bit, but we are so so thankful we could open and host our incredible guests.
Our barrels hosted engagements and honey mooners, travel writers and influencers, best friend wine nights and solo travellers seeking solace.
We missed our American guests this year but were also grateful to meet so many local couples looking for a night in nature.
Our wine barrel inspired cabins are now closed for the season but I am already anticipating the upgrades for next years guests and look forward to another year of barrel hosting.
Thank you to each guest who spent their time with us here during 2020 on Fox Creek, we are so grateful.
If you do want to stay with us for 2021 we suggest booking early as our dates are steadily filling.

Last minute cancellations are always a disappointment, but last night we made the most of it! Mother👩‍👧daughter camp out!
We watched the sun go down, roasted marshmallows, laid on blankets and stared up at the stars, giggled as we snuggled into the cozy bed and listened to the crickets and frogs singing us to sleep.
It was magical, and I’m so thankful we can share our farm and this experience with others!
The weather is currently perfect for camping, so come and stay with us!

It’s live and we have our first guest sleeping the night away as I type!
It was a whirlwind of a day and I am so excited to know they are looking through the beautiful window, up at the stars and will wake to a sunrise on Fox Creek!

We just heard the Keys are planning to reopen June 1st! We have patiently been waiting and missing our guests, as has the rest of the Florida Keys. It has been a very trying couple of months, but the County has done a great job reducing the cases and are planning for tourism to slowly start back up. We couldn’t be happier to hear the news and Kristy, our local host, has been deep cleaning and preparing our places for opening day.
Thankfully our boats only hold one couple at a time and we will be disinfecting surfaces between guests.
Come and stay with us and support all the local businesses around. Grab some groceries from the local store, eat at a nearby restaurant, rent some water equipment, or a fishing pole and please be kind. Everyone is doing their best to protect you and their own staff, and we all cannot wait to see your smiling faces again 😁

We here at Journey wish you a Happy Easter! We hope you have a chance to make this weekend a special time, despite it looking the same as the past few weekends.
During this time we are praying for the safety of our front line workers, for the health of those currently sick and for the world to continue to support each other as we stay separated.
We are missing our family dearly and I personally cannot wait to hug everyone after this is over.
So have a special weekend focused on hope and reflect on the things we can look forward to after this time of distance.
It will end, the darkness will lift and our arms will once again be filled with those we love!

Our Key Largo location has been shut down since March 22nd, and we are missing our guest interaction! Monroe County made the wise decision to close the Keys to all visitors, and is still closed. It was sad to hear, but we agreed!

Our Oxley, Ontario location is due to kick off mid May and we will keep everyone updated as we draw nearer to the date.
If you have a reservation with us know that you will be refunded in full if Covid 19 causes a cancellation. All booking platforms are offering full refunds (incl their fees) to those travellers stuck at home. You are welcome to leave you reservation blocked off and wait to see how the world is coping closer to your date. Even if you have to cancel the day before, you will still be refunded in full 👍🏼

We are taking life day by day and spending extra time with our families and preparing a new space for our incredible guests to escape to!
This star gazer beauty will be at our Oxley location and will be ready for guests after this crisis has lifted! This isn’t her final resting place, but I had to snap a pic to share what’s coming down the pipe. We cannot wait to host you all on your upcoming adventures, but for now, stay home and stay safe!

Our sweet Sea Turtle has been reviewed! We love to hear how wonderfully our guests were able to relax and disconnect, this is such a focus of our AirBnBs...why don’t you go off grid with us for a night or two and see for yourself!

We have had repeat guests in Key Largo, Oxley guests who have rebooked from last year for this year and even guests from early 2019 book for our fall season...but tonight we welcomed back to the farm our first repeat reservation from 2018. Last year they stayed when it was unseasonably chilly and this year they are here when it’s unseasonably hot ☀️
I was so happy to greet them with familiar smiles, hugs and gifts. They departed last time and left me flowers and they returned with their favourite loaf for us to try. We shared gifts in return and such appreciation and gratefulness for their return...there really isn’t a better compliment than a repeat guest ❤️ Especially when they come with delicious gifts 😌

When we see guests making the most out of their time floating in the Keys it makes us all so happy! It takes more to prepare an amazing breakfast like this on a grill but these guests reaped the rewards as they enjoyed a majestic morning meal under the sun!
Did you know we provide coffee and presses at every location? So even if you don’t feel up to cooking your own meal on vacation you can easily sip your mug of warmth before venturing out for the day’s adventures!

Our Story

Journey Rentals is a physical representation of our family and their dreams. We have worked for years to visualize, create, build, set up and now run this adventurous experience company. Our young family of 5 plus our incredible couple in Key Largo are the heart of our business. When you email it is we who respond, when you check-in it is we who host you, and when you leave it is we who clean.

If we are not hosting our amazing guests you will usually still find us outside! All of us adore being under the sun, working with our hands and spending time near the water. Meet our team!

Ben - Ben and his father are where Journey started. It was their ability to visualize and build the amazing units you stay in that paved the way for your night floating under the stars. Ben is creative and a motivator. He thinks his way out of corners and doesn’t stop until he has an answer to a problem. You won’t see him much or speak with him as he is a behind the scenes kind of guy...but your Journey experience would not be out there if it wasn’t for him. If he isn’t researching or building you can find Ben spending time with his children, training in jiu jitsu, fishing or just simply being outside as much as he can with his family.

Beth - Beth is the main go to for the business. She runs the online profiles, the day to day communication, as well as hosts their amazing guests at the Oxley location. Beth is at home with her and Ben’s three children, and if she isn’t at the computer or hosting a guest she is outside with her kids. You can find them in their chicken run with their chicks, planting or harvesting from their garden or running around the farm pretending to be Star Wars characters. She loves fresh flowers, dirt under her nails and happy guests!
