Florence, Italy

The Duomo- Built by Brunelleschi, the Duomo in Florence took nearly 150 years to fully build. The dome shape of this structure was extremely unique at the time and very difficult to build. It is built from four million bricks and weighs over 40,000 tons, considering it an architectural marvel.

There is so much to do, see and eat in Florence. Many people want more than one day in this amazing city. Santa Margherita, a stop on many Mediterranean cruises, is regarded as a scenic but quiet tourist attraction. You can spend hours walking along the promenade and taking in the vibrant homes and buildings while you enjoy an aromatic coffee in the morning and a luscious ice cream in the afternoon.

Nice by the sea

You may notice that Nice has a good amount of Italian influence despite it being a French city. That is because Nice was once an Italian city owned by the Kingdom of Sardinia. The Sardinians gave Nice to the French in the nineteenth-century as a thank you for helping them defend Austria. This is why architecturally and culinarily you will notice a hybrid of the two cultures.

The iconic Trevi fountain is the largest Baroque fountain in Rome at a whopping 85 feet high and 65 feet wide. The most notable feature is of its god and triton statues designed to “tame the waters” as the fountain is the final point in the Aqua Virgo aqueduct system.

Travel Tip: Passport Edition! 🛂 Here are 3 essential passport tips to make your globetrotting smooth sailing👇🏼

1️⃣ Renew Early: Don't wait until the last minute to renew your passport. Most countries require a valid passport for 6 months to a year beyond your travel date. Renew it at least 9 months before it expires.

2️⃣ Make Copies: Before you leave, photocopy or take photos of your passport's bio page and visa pages (if any). Store them securely or digitally for easy access if needed.

3️⃣ Stay Informed: Know where your country's embassy or consulate is located at your destination. It's your go-to in case your passport gets lost or stolen.

OKKO Hotel by the airport in Nice, France exceeded our expectations! Karyn LaRocca is the heart and soul of the company. Charming Voyages came to be in May of 2018 when she decided to dive deeper into the travel business. With a passion for travel, a mind for business and a heart to help others Charming Voyages Travel was created.

It has been an amazing experience and we have loved helping plan all kinds of vacations from family reunions to honeymoons.
