Intense!

And something a tad more ‘in season’…with a whole lot more drama, a nice side of mood and an intense burn for a backdrop! 😎🌊🔥 This is from that ultra fiery, blustery and intensely beautiful evening in November.

This shot is a situation where I actually got in the car to leave, but the sky just wouldn’t stop and I couldn’t resist getting back out of the car for just a few more! This also resulted in my being too lazy to secure the camera to the tripod, so this was shot handheld in (20+ mph winds), at 1/10 of a second (and of course was pretty excited that this one came out sharp as a tack ha!)! I’ll take another crazy, gorgeous and intense night like this anytime! 😍

Cold and beautiful!

It’s nine degrees and the frozen silence of Point Betsie is a testament to the enduring power and artistry of the natural world. There is a beauty born of harshness; a peace-filled tranquility carved from the very heart of winter. It's a moment of fragile perfection, captured forever through my lens. The snow, a whirling dancer of feather-light flakes, pirouettes and waltzes in the wind. The ice builds with effortless grace, a sculptor of silent beauty. It weaves delicate forms, each one a prism capturing the light like a thousand tiny diamonds. Point Betsie Lighthouse, a sentinel of the Lake Michigan coast, stands shrouded in a silent and beautiful embrace of ice. I listen as the wind gently whispers and shares with me the secrets of Lake Michigan.

A refreshing splash with your fire? This is pure Lake Michigan!

How bout a refreshing splash with your fire? Whew! That sky was on such fire last night, that I had to take a lil dip in the water to cool off! Hahaha actually more like….i just couldn’t resist capturing some splash and jetty action to go with Little Sable Lighthouse and that perfectly colorful backdrop! I’ve actually had my sights on exactly this composition for while now, and the perfect conditions (finally aligned!). And after getting entirely soaked in this spot, I turned my attention to the beautiful water pools that were forming on the shore amidst the nice wave action last evening - which also means that of course I ended up on the ground (followed by a fantastic caking of sand from head to toe!🤭😂). And for this vantage point and ‘bucket list’ shot? Worth the mess haha!
