Looking for a Highland Christmas escape? We still have availability at two of our cosy holiday cottages, located on the outskirts of Aviemore in the stunning Cairngorms National Park: Railway Cottage (sleeps up to 4) and Springfield House (sleeps up to 6).

Picture festive mornings by the wood burning stove, afternoons out exploring scenic (and hopefully snowy!) walks and evenings cosied up around the fire pit under a starry night ✨ Both properties are dog friendly too so you can bring all the family.

To make your stay extra magical, each property will be beautifully decorated for Christmas, complete with a real Christmas tree, so it will feel fully festive for your arrival. Whether it’s a peaceful getaway for two or a festive gathering with your family, our cottages are a fantastic base for a Highland Christmas.

We just love this time of year 🤩 Vibrant colours all around, crisp air and the quiet magic of an autumnal forest. There’s something so soul-soothing about being surrounded by nature as the seasons change. The Cairngorm National Park offers a wide variety of woodland walks, each more stunning than the last, and it’s the perfect place to reconnect with nature and feel rejuvenated. Looking for a spontaneous getaway to the stunning Scottish Highlands? We have last minute availability at a couple of our self catering cottage this month - Springfield House and Hillview Cottage. Both are nestled in peaceful rural locations in the Cairngorms National Park (on the outskirts of Aviemore) and offer a gorgeous blend of vintage and contemporary decor providing your cosy home away from home.

Each have a wood burning stove indoors and a fire pit outdoors so you can cosy up and enjoy a movie or gaze up at the stars. Our properties are dog friendly too so you can bring the whole family.

All four of our self catering properties are dog friendly with beautiful walks straight from the front door. Last minute availability at both Hillview Cottage (just south of Aviemore) and Springfield House (Carrbridge). Both have cosy and laid back decor, a large sociable kitchen dining area and a fire pit in the secure back garden.

Our last remaining availability this month is at Hillview Cottage: Monday 26th - Friday 30th August.

This is such a lovely space to spend time with loved ones. So much thought has been put into making it homely and comfortable and the view of the garden from the dining table makes for a very serene and relaxing time. Perfect location for exploring the Cairngorms National Park with easy access to the Speyside Way; making it ideal for dog owners.

We have had a last minute cancellation so our Hayloft is now available for up to a week from 22nd July.

A gorgeous barn loft conversion with cosy Scandi style interiors and a stunning viewing platform to take in all the surrounding scenery.

The wild garden is surrounded by ancient woodland and the stream that runs by the barn provides the most relaxing audio for your stay.

With an abundance of wildlife at home here, it’s a fantastic spot for nature lovers and for those looking for a relaxing place to unwind in.

A generous welcome pack with lots of goodies is provided by the owners. They even have herb boxes for guests! Such a gem of a place ❤️

Located on the Rothiemurchus estate, near Aviemore. Sleeps up to two guests.

We love this secluded spot at The Hayloft, perfect for soaking up the peaceful surroundings of the Rothiemurchus estate. The stunning Loch an Eilein is within walking distance. Our last remaining availability here in July is 22nd - 25th.

We have a couple of mid week slots at Springfield House, Carrbridge: 1st - 4th and 9th - 12th. Sleeping up to 6 guests, the house is ideal for those looking for a self catering property within walking distance of local attractions such Landmark Adventure Park, pony trekking, golfing and woodland walks. There is a cracking highland pub just along the road too.

There is one weekend (12th - 15th) and one mid week slot (1st - 5th) available at Railway Cottage, which sleeps up to 4 guests. A cosy retreat overlooking the Insh Marshes.

Last but not least, we have weekend and mid week slots available at Hillview; a beautiful cottage sleeping up to 7 guests located between Aviemore and Kincraig.
A fantastic base for families looking to explore the local area.

The Cairngorms National Park is looking lush 😍

Our remaining availability in June for those looking for a rural escape to a homely and stylish self catering property in the highlands.

First image is of Railway Cottage, Balavil. Cosy cottage with stunning views across the Insh Marshes. Sleeps 4 in total. Available 14th-17th and 21st-24th.

Second image is of the deck at The Hayloft, a perfect spot for taking in the surroundings. Romantic, converted barn loft for two guests. Idyllic location on Rothiemurchus Estate. Last remaining availability is 21st-24th and 24th-28th.

Third image is of Hillview Cottage’s beautiful open plan kitchen that opens out onto the garden. Beautiful family home for up to 7 guests and a fantastic base close to Alvie Estate and Loch Insh Watersports. Last availability is this weekend, 7th-10th and free for a mid week stay from the 10th.

Fourth image is Springfield House. A gorgeous family home in Carrbridge, just along the road from Landmark Adventure Park, the golf course and the Cairn, a cracking highland pub with a beer garden that gets the evening sunshine. Sleeps up to 6 guests and is available 14th-17th with some mid week availability too.

All of our properties are dog friendly and located on the outskirts of Aviemore.

Last weekend availability for May 💥

This weekend from the 10th May: Hillview Cottage (sleeps up to 7 guests) and Railway Cottage (sleeps up to 4 guests). Both in stunning rural locations just south of Aviemore.

The following weekend: Springfield House in the beautiful highland village of Carrbridge (sleeps up to 6 guests) and The Hayloft, our romantic bolthole for two in the idyllic Rothiemurchus estate.

We also have some availability midweek - get in touch if you fancy a trip to the stunning Cairngorms National Park.

All four properties are a short drive or cycle ride to all the main local attractions. So much outdoor fun to be had at both Alvie and Rothiemurchus estates, Landmark Adventure Park, the Cairngorm mountain resort and loch Insh… not to mention all the glorious trails for biking and dog walking straight from the front door ❤️

Looking for some creativity to fill your holiday? Embark on an artistic adventure in Grantown-on-Spey! It’s been a while since we were last there and a recent visit to this charming Highland town led to the discovery of a treasure trove of local talent.

First stop: Highland Artisans on the main road where you’ll find a delightful array of local art, crafts and sheepskin products. Don’t miss OPENSPACE | THE VAULT Contemporary Art Gallery + Exhibition Venue, showcasing stunning work by Joanna Wilson!

Spey Bank Studio is also a must-visit. Explore their art gallery and gift shop showcasing the talents of local painters, photographers, and sculptors.

Feeling artistic? Get hands-on at Smarty Art, a ceramic painting studio where you can unleash your creativity on a wide range of pottery. It’s a fun and relaxing way to spend a few hours on holiday, with the added excitement of collecting your fired masterpiece in person or having it delivered to your home.

Our recommended pitstop is the High Street Merchants. A wide range of fresh pastries, teas and coffees on offer and their dog-friendly, outdoor sitting area is the perfect spot to enjoy an iced coffee and a delicious homemade doughnut.

The Hayloft is a very romantic self catering barn loft, lovingly converted by the owners a few years ago. With a very private outlook onto the adjacent woodland and stream, it feels like you’re in the middle of nowhere. A fantastic spot to recharge your batteries.

Located in an idyllic corner of Rothiemurchus Estate and a short walk to the stunning Loch an Eilein, you are surrounded by nature on all sides. Flat or hilly walks straight from the front door and cosy blankets provided for sitting out and winding down on the balcony.

We are very pleased that so many of our guests have returned so often in such a short space of time - their home away from home ❤️

Absolutely ready for summer but we love that the snow is still hanging around for a bit longer 😍 fancy a slide
this weekend? The Cairngorm Mountain is open and lots of lower routes open that are ideal for beginners.

We have availability for 2-7 guests, get in touch if you fancy a last minute getaway or are planning a trip over the school holidays.

This photo was taken a good few years ago but it’s one of our favourites of Balavil. That moody sky! A fantastic track across the moorland and a great opportunity for deer and mountain hare spotting. A short, scenic drive from Hillview Cottage and The Hayloft.

The patio doors open out onto the secluded back garden where you can indulge in some al fresco dining and toast marshmallows over the fire pit. With a chorus of birdsong and playful squirrels often coming to feed, the cottage is a haven for nature lovers.

Whether it’s family trips or entertaining friends, Hillview Cottage is a fantastic self-catering base for exploring the Cairngorm National Park and creating memories to last a lifetime.

Springfield House sleeps up to 6 and sits in the heart of Carrbridge, a beautiful little village just north of Aviemore. Woodland walks and bike trails, local traditional pub, golf course, pony trekking..

Hillview Cottage sleeps up to 7 guests and is located just along the road from Alvie estate - close to Insh water sports, Dalraddy and Alvie estates as well as the Highland Wildlife park. Beautifully decorated with a sociable dining space that opens out onto the garden.
