We are gutted by the news that Chef Floyd Cardoz has succumbed to . In addition to championing Indian flavors in the US for decades and introducing the idiom for modern Indian cuisine, Chef Floyd led the inaugural culinary tour to and last year. No one but Floyd could have brought so much passion, insight, appetite and sheer fun to this group of curious .

We all send our deepest condolences to his wife and life partner, Barkha, sons Justin and Peter, the teams from , , , , , , and all those who have been mentored by this remarkable talent who believed in people and cared deeply about his craft, the heritage of Indian food and the dignity of those in the kitchen -- at home and in restaurants.

The exception is Floyd Cardoz who opened Tabla in the 1990s and made his brand of modern Indian food a firm favourite with New York foodies. Magazine Street Kitchen has been referred to as a "culinary haven", a "co-cooking space", an "experimental food venue". This very special place, the brainchild of Gauri Devidayal and Jay Yousuf, is all of this and more, and it is a featured destination in our culinary tour to India this February.

Since its opening in 2016, this 2,500 square foot state-of-the-art facility designed within an industrial warehouse has become a center for international culinary collaboration and events. At Magazine Street Kitchen, we will be led on an immersive cooking journey. A specially designed meal, with an emphasis on seasonality, local seafood and the Indian spice cabinet, will be ours to create and to enjoy.
