Just returned from a 3 week vacation in South Africa and wow - what a trip!! Started my trip in one of my most favourite towns - Stellenbosch!!
Stellenbosch is a university town in South Africa's Western Cape province. It's surrounded by the vineyards of the Cape Winelands and the mountainous nature reserves of Jonkershoek and Simonsberg. The town's oak-shaded streets are lined with cafes, boutiques and art galleries. Cape Dutch architecture gives a sense of South Africa's Dutch colonial history, as do the Village Museum's period houses Experience the welcoming hospitality and breathe in the spectacular vistas and sweeping vineyards.
My favourite place to visit in Stellenbosch was the Basic Bistro where I could enjoy a great lunch and a glass of Sauvignon Blanc. The Basic Bistro is across from my beautiful friend (Teresa Decinti’s Art Gallery) - we always meet for a glass of wine while keeping our eyes on her Teresa Decinti’ art gallery.
Down the street from her gallery is Java restaurant - a great meeting place ....The RedTeapot Gallery of Porchis
In the many art galleries in Stellenbosch one can find works of Great South African artists likeKenneth Baker,Gregoire Boonzaaier, Pierneef, Adriaan Boshof and many more.
Stellenbosch a MUST SEE and a highlight in my yearly visits to the United States.

Statistics say we have already lost 43% of African lions and are on our way losing all the elephants within our lifetime because of poaching and loss of habitat. Luckily enough, there are people who love animals so much, that they just can’t stay away from the poaching crisis. In 2017 Dean Schneid...
