Welcome to Zen Days at the Solarium! The Atrium in the Solarium Colorado is a Space for healing! Some of you may know the Solarium as a hotel or hostel, but after the transition through the last year, the owners of the Solarium decided to switch up the business model.
The Solarium is now available for short term rentals, office and work spaces, and events that bring ease into the space.
Which is why we collaboratively created Zen Days. Zen Days are meant to give you a space for healing in a sustainable way.
We offer space for local practitioners of all modalities to share a session with you in the beautiful atrium amongst the tropical trees. In this space, no matter the temperature outdoors, you will feel as if you are in a tropical environment. We like to call it Costa Rica :)
We will also host a small local vendor market and your ticket includes private access to this as well as some of the other incredible shared spaces in this little slice of heaven.

This is a quick video to show you how to practice Lion's Breath. Lion's Breath is said to remove toxins from the body, and Ayurveda says many of these toxins lie at the back of the tongue. A white tongue means more toxins lie in the body, and the buildup is especially linked to the gut.โฃ

For a complete practice, sit on your knees and place your hands in your lap. Time yourself for 3-11 minutes. Close your eyes and perhaps practice rolling your eyes slightly up to imagine looking between the brow point. Begin the breath.โฃ

This breath is also very energizing so it's a great pick me up in the middle of the day as well as an awesome morning practice. It also relieves tension in the jaw, relieves stress, and helps to reduce headaches.โฃ

Long Deep Breath is proven to calm the mind because of the breath control used in the practice. Longer inhalations and exhalations combined with the holds allow for a lowered heart rate which also reduces the blood pressure. A lowered blood pressure calms the mind by releasing endorphins which combats the stress hormone cortisol. Higher endorphin also help relieve pain and reduce fear.โฃ

Breathing deeper and with more control helps to oxygenate the blood which improves the immune system. Oxygenated blood allows for more efficient nutrient absorption, which increases energy levels and boosts immunity. โฃ

The respiratory system is in charge of one of the biggest dumps of toxins from the body. Inhale Oxygen, train your lungs to hold longer, Exhale Carbon Dioxide and train the body to hold those toxins out of the body. Exercise the lungs just as we exercise the body. This is also a great mental exercise!โฃ

Insomnia? Anger? Sadness? Depression? Tune into the 2nd video in the breath and meditation series and learn how to utilize breath awareness or conscious breathing. Becoming aware of the breath can help with all of the above especially in times where we feel out of control. Breathing from the nose helps to deepen the breath, showing down the breathing helps to focus the mind. โฃ

Seasonal Allergies prevent us from consciously breathing from the nose so it's very important to bring the awareness into the breath to increase immunity. The nose has a built in filter and will help decrease allergens. If it's currently stuffed up, blow your nose or use a neti pot (if you don't have a sinus infection) before breathing from the nose. โฃ
