Slowly returning to a more classic antique Cape Cod look. These French doors were installed in a Hunter green that matched the old front door. One of our favorite Cape Cod day trips is to do drive down 6A and look at all of the historical homes. This black now feels much more clean and classic Cape Cod. @ Sagamore, Massachusetts

Is it safe to say NO ONE enjoys tax season?? Especially this year! When you have a it definitely doesn’t make any less daunting. But it is always a great opportunity to check in on the and of our When we first listed our home on we hoped for a rental or two to help offset our - and nearly fell over when we ended up renting it for more than 10 weeks the first year! We are learning more by the year. In 2018, we not only covered 100% of our expenses, we were able to invest in some major renovation projects.

Those aren’t chocolate chip and this is isn’t sleepy - this is what our third year with looks like in our apartment. It includes all of the necessary, easily accessible sanity savers - fresh (to remind us of Spring), because they’re the best (especially when you find them at ) all the pottery I can get my paws on (including my favorite ring dishes - thanks to ) to hold my while I whip the fellas up some out of the box (yet still delicious) . It’s funny living two completely different lives - one we are outgrowing and one we are growing to love more by the day. to continue to see growth for as we move into our fourth year. Tax season anyone? Now we can start to shift our focus to the next big move - we see you coming into view

What is better than this thoughtful message from our weekend AirBnB renters??? I’ll tell you - that fact that 8 college students left our house SPOTLESS! Sincere thanks to the for your kind words and bring some of our best renters yet! Did you know you can rent a whole house with up to 10 of your friends for less than it would cost for two hotel rooms? Not only do you get quadruple the space, you have the convenience of a full kitchen, grill area, barn full of yard games and a fire pit. Not too shabby if you ask us! @ Sagamore, Massachusetts

Just when we think we have the handle on our business, the game changes right before our 👀. After a full of rentals, we were eager for a week vacation of our own at our home. We hadn’t booked but one rental and that was okay. They tend to come in with much less notice than summer rentals due to increase in availability, reduction of nightly fees and required lengths of stay. Nearly 80% of our rentals typically come through our listing on and (same company). In just one week though, we received FOUR fall rental requests through our listing. Why, the shift we ask? Is it because these are long weekends v. expensive summer weeks? Is that bringing in a younger base? Thoughts?? Any other interesting observations with your rental property or renting habits?

(Although an exhausting one - which called for a much needed vacation of our own this week.) After booking nearly every week this summer, we were able to focus some resources on getting the exterior of the home to mirror the work we’ve down to the interior - Forever a work in progress but making progress that hopefully our renters will enjoy as much as we do .
