From 11th February, double vaccinated passengers arriving into England will no longer be required to take a day 2 lateral flow test.

This comes just ahead of February half term so is great news for families looking to get away over the break.

Great news, pleased to share that the Government has confirmed the removal of its pre-departure test requirements for passengers travelling into England.

PCR tests and self-isolation on arrival has also been scrapped, with the government reverting to its previous requirement of a lateral flow test to be taken within 48 hours of arrival and, if positive, a PCR test to check for variants.

The changes to international travel rules will come into effect from 4am on Friday, January 7.

The FCDO has lifted its advice against all but essential travel for 32 countries and territories. This comes soon after the simplifying of the traffic light system into a single red list and the change in advice for other destinations such as the Maldives. Really great news

From Monday 4th October, there will be a complete overhaul of the travel traffic light system with the introduction of a single red list. Fully vaccinated travellers will no longer require a pre-departure test before arrival into England from countries not on the red list, and from later in October the day-2 PCR test will be replaced by a cheaper lateral flow test.

In addition to this, eight countries, including the Maldives and Turkey, will be removed from the red list on Wednesday 22nd September.

This is great news as I have a few clients booked to Canada.
Happy days

Canada reopens its borders to double-vaccinated passengers from the UK.

From 7th September, fully vaccinated foreign nationals are eligible to enter Canada without any need for quarantine. As Canada is on the UK’s Green List, there will be no requirement to quarantine on return either.

Finally I am off on my own holiday to Greece. The tests and form filling seem daunting however it was surprisingly simple. Being double vaccinated I just need proof of my vaccine status which can be requested via the NHS and then a simple passenger locator form for entry to Greece. This can be done well in advance.
One PLF should be submitted per family.
Travellers will receive the PLF with their unique Quick Response (QR) code via email (the QR code will be provided in a link in the email).
I flew from East Midlands on a midday flight, airport check in was easy and no long queues. Same upon arrival in Greece landed and was out of the airport in 1/2 hour.
I have already arranged my pre departure test in Greece at a local chemist for 39 euros and my day 2 test is waiting for me at home
Yes it’s a pain with the tests, yes I hate filling out forms but 2 weeks in one of my favourite holiday destinations has been worth it

We’ve got great news! Travel Counsellors has been rated ‘Green’ for Covid flexibility on the new Which? Holiday Checker!

After taking part in several surveys with the leading UK consumer champion Which? this year, today the company launched a consumer-focussed online tool that rates companies green, amber or red based on their refund and amendment policies in relation to Covid-19 travel disruption. It is designed to makes it easy for people to check which travel companies have provided the best service to their customers, offering flexible booking options and refunds, and which ones could leave them out of pocket if circumstances change.

This accolade further highlights how we have looked after our customers throughout the pandemic, building on our consistent 5-star Trustpilot rating and three-times been voted ‘number one’ in MoneySavingExpert’s consumer poll, which ranks how well travel companies are looking after their customers during COVID-19.

With the news that fully vaccinated travellers will no longer need to self isolate upon arrival back into the UK from Amber destinations, I have been busy and have booked clients to The Balearics and Greece. We still need to check the entry requirements for each country as this can change but this might be useful for those considering a summer get away to the sun. Any questions feel free to contact me.

Fully-vaccinated travellers will no longer need to self-isolate on arrival into England from 19th July when travelling from an amber-listed country. There will still be a requirement to take a pre-departure test three days before travelling and a PCR test on day two of arrival back in England.

Its been a really difficult year for us all and the travel industry has been hard hit. I have spent a lot of my time rebooking clients and so when I received this message from a valued client today, I felt I had to post. Janet has always done a great job in creating and organising our family vacations. I will still do my usual internet searches but never manage to find the great locations and particularly accommodation that she does. Being a family of four, with children of different ages, it is not always easy to find good accommodation….at a reasonable price. Janet has always managed to find and secure the perfect places. What I particularly appreciate is her patience in our holiday selection; I don’t think there has been a single occasion when we haven’t moved the goalposts during her searches but she still prevails!!
