Ride the Fault Line is a week long bicycle tour that annually lets cyclists ride through four (or more?) states in the mid-Mississippi valley. Get an idea of how this tour works by visiting www.ridethefault.com and reviewing where we rode and what we did and experienced in 2024! This past week we spent our planning time working on the schedule for 2025. You have to have a lot of people and places "in-sync" for 7 days to support a bike ride such as Ride the Fault Line! It's looking like maybe June 7-14. Should be cooler than the last week of June as used in 2023, but still after Memorial Day holiday and spring rains in our area. You can't avoid a conflict with some other event no matter which week in June you choose, but at least it will be a different set of conflicts than last year. The next most likely option is May 31-June 7. We can't go any further back into May because we stay at some schools and we can't do that until "school's out"! Prospective new or repeat riders-any thoughts?

As summer turns to fall, we are working on some new locations, routes, and things to see during our next Ride the Fault Line cycling tour in June, 2025. This past week we worked on including a portion of a southern Illinois rail-trail in our itinerary. Still have a few details to work out, but it looks promising! Weekly progress report on RTFL-2025: we spent all day Thursday checking out NEW route possibilities and overnight locations in southern Illinois. Saw some promising sites to visit and things to do as well. Now we just have to spend a few more days "on the road" to see if we can bring all the necessary services together to make it happen next June. More later!
