A Moment with Me…
“Your Condition”
I know I’m aging Myself but do You remember a Song called:
“Just dropped in to see what Condition My Condition is in?”
It was a counter cultural Song I used to Sing back in the late 60’s.
The gist of it is the author felt He had lost His mind and wanted to come back to reality to see what condition His condition was in. He was trying to find himself amidst all the chaos of what was going on around Him.
I know personally being a teen in that era it was easy to get lost in all the goings on. All young men had to report to the draft office at age18 and if able, had to get ready to go to War.
This was the Vietnam War era. 1965-1975. Yup, that’s My Generation!
Many boys did not want to go so yes, as it used to be said there was plenty of “Sex, Drugs, and Rock and Roll” going on.
Here’s a bit of the song lyrics:
“I woke up this mornin' with the sundown shinin' in
I found my mind in a brown paper bag within
I tripped on a cloud and fell an eight miles high
I tore my mind on a jagged sky
I just dropped in to see what condition my condition was in”
If You're still with Me at this point You are no doubt saying: What’s this got to do with God?’ Actually plenty!
Our lives should reveal God’s purpose and also show God’s Significance so we must always protect the sanctity of life. War does NOT do that!
No matter who you are or what era you’re from, you are valuable to God.
And the same is true for every man, woman, and child, no matter what society tries to tell us today. Let’s face it, none of us are perfect.
The Bible tells us that God accepts responsibility for all our genetic imperfections. Did you know that?
However that does not mean he takes responsibility for the problems in our lives that we brought on ourselves because of the poor choices We make or man made Worldly problems.
The Great New is that He, through His Son Jesus, offers Us Salvation.
Take Up Your Cross and Follow Jesus. Then Jesus told his disciples, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me.” Matthew 16: 24-26
The Bible also says in 1 Samuel 16:7, “The LORD does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart.”
God can see what we can’t see. He knows Us and he loves each of us for our unique potential to do the great things that He has planned for us, regardless of our physical handicaps, imperfections, or weaknesses.
Also God will never compare you with anybody else. He made you to be you. You are His masterpiece and He’s going to help you reach your unique potential shall You let Him.
So, the next time You are wondering “What condition Your condition is in”, look to and Pray to God. Ask Him for advice. Be patient and listen for that still small voice to answer. Believe Me, He will answer!
Remember God considers Your Life Sacred. That’s how He Created You!
