To celebrate National Roller Coaster Day, here are some fun facts about the Jurassic World VelociCoaster at Universal Orlando!
1. This coaster is located inside Universal's Islands of Adventure.
2. The ride's story takes place right before the first Jurassic World film, when the resort operations manager of Jurassic World was challenged to add "more teeth" to the park. Putting a roller coaster right in the middle of the raptor paddock is a great idea, right?
3. This coaster is the tallest and fastest launch coaster in Florida, with a max speed of 70 miles per hour. It's also the fastest roller coaster in any Universal park!
4. The ride has 4 inversions, including a 100-foot inverted stall over the bridge leading to the queue.
5. During the ride's construction, fans speculated what the ride would be. Universal joked on their social media accounts that it was going to be a churro stand!
