The Azores have really surprised me! 😍 🇵🇹

An archipelago of nine volcanic islands in the Atlantic Ocean 🌋

They are part of Portugal but look so different!

Vibrantly green hills, picturesque small towns, waterfalls, hot springs, delicious local cheese & wine, and incredibly friendly people.

I can highly recommend visiting the Azores! ❤️

I'm paddle boarding past Pablo Escobar's famous plane wreck in the beautiful turquoise waters of the Exumas. 😍

It's a WWII-era plane that was thought to be carrying co***ne when it missed the runway and ended up in the water in 1980.

This is Chichen Itza, Mexico 🇲🇽

Chichen Itza was one of the largest Maya cities, dating back to 600 AD.

The ruins of this city are impressive and definitely worth a visit. 😍

Chichen Itza is listed as one of the 7 New Wonders of the World (on the same list as the Great Wall of China and the Taj Mahal).

Chichen Itza is one of the most visited archeological sites in Mexico and it was one of the highlights of my time in Mexico. ❤

Unfortunately, as a sailing destination the Caribbean side of Mexico doesn't have much to offer. ⛵
With hardly any places to anchor and only a few locations with marinas, you can't explore much of Mexico by boat.
So, hopefully I will return one day without a boat to see more of what Mexico has to offer. 🇲🇽

Another day in paradise! 😍⛵🌴

Well, as I've learned after a year of living on a boat, it's not all paradise. It's hard work, it's constant fixing of things, it's seasickness, it's dealing with and accepting the unpredictability of the weather.

But, it's also visiting incredible places such as this one: a quiet anchorage in Bocas del Toro with crystal clear water and dolphins swimming past our boat! 🐬

Hello Panama! 🇵🇦😀

We've started our trip around Panama here in beautiful Bocas del Toro.

Bocas del Toro offers 9 main islands, thousands of islets and cays, dense rainforest and expansive mangrove areas. It is a popular place in Panama to go island hopping, snorkeling, scuba diving, surfing or just relaxing on the beach.

The area attracts both local and international travelers. Part of the Bocas del Toro archipelago has a very laid back, humble, backpackers vibe but you can also find beautiful, quiet, high end resorts here.
And, because there are so many islands to explore, with good anchorages and easy sailing, it's also a popular sailing destination.

Goodbye Curaçao 👋

We've spent almost three months here. Doing a lot of work on the boat 🔨🔧⛵ But also exploring what has to offer.

If you love scuba diving, snorkeling, beautiful beaches, good restaurants and lively beach bars, then you might want to add Curaçao to your bucket list!

For us it's time to move on and explore a new destination 😊

Info: Curaçao is an island in the Caribbean, among the group known as the ABC Islands alongside Aruba and Bonaire. 

Curaçao is known for its great beaches, snorkeling and scuba diving. But also for its iconic colorful houses in Willemstad, which are part of a UNESCO world heritage site.

The island has a tropical Savannah climate, with little rain and warm temperatures throughout the year. And Curaçao is located outside the Caribbean hurricane belt, meaning it's a great island to visit any time of year! ❤
