Thimphu Tshechu is a vibrant and culturally significant religious festival celebrated in Thimphu, the capital city of Bhutan. Tshechu means "tenth day" in Dzongkha, the national language of Bhutan, and the festival usually takes place on the 10th day of a Bhutanese lunar month. This annual event is held at the Tashichho Dzong, a prominent fortress-monastery that also serves as a government office and a monastic residence.
The Thimphu Tshechu is characterized by its colorful masked dances, traditional music, and elaborate religious ceremonies. These performances are not only entertaining but also hold deep spiritual significance, as they depict stories from Bhutanese history,

Hiking in around Thimphu, a perfect hike would be a hike to Wangditse. Located at about a 30 min and 45 min walk up hill from Dechenphodrang monastery. One can also explore hiking from Sangaygang. Traveling to Bhutan is allowed but the tourist visiting the country has to follow COVID-19 guidelines set by the government.
They should undergo the mandatory 21-day quarantine. Will have to produce a COVID-19 negative certificate issued not earlier than 72 hours before the journey. They are also expected to follow COVID-19 protocol and TCB guidelines strictly.
