Any one who like skiing and winter activities but also like viewing cherry blossom at the same time? In Japan, you will see cherry flower blooming during the end of Mar to early Apr mostly but in some areas, because of different weather, it might flower later or earlier. For this post, I suggest for you Kawazu Sakura festival which is normally available from Feb 10 to Mar 10 when you can enjoy many winter activities as well in surrounding areas. This is low season in Honshu island and you will get cheap price for hotels, air ticket during this time but still can view cherry flower. Besides, for persons who are keen on flowers, this time, you can also enjoy Cameliia (Tsubaki) blossom festival in Oshima island which held from late Jan to late Mar. However, it is quite costly to visit this island, for some body with low budget, maybe you can skip it.

For this route, I suggest to use JR pass 7 days. For details of how to go by public transportation, I will mention in the next post.

Summary of itinerary :
Day 1 : Arrive Tokyo - enjoy full day tour with Imperial Palace, Tsukiji outer market, Asakusa area with Sensoji Temple, Nakamise street and Tokyo Sky Tree.
Day 2 : Tokyo – Kawazu for Cherry blossom festival – enjoy hot spring and overnight at Atami.

Hi every one.

I have a new friend who plans to travel to Japan this Nov with his wife and I helped him for the schedule. Actually he got the nice deal for accommodation every night in Osaka so I made a day trip from Osaka every day for him.

However, for some days, it is better to stay in Kyoto instead to avoid moving up and down and take less traveling time. Besides, I do recommend to spend 1 night in Ine area or Asago area as you will have a chance to know the local daily life and the beauty of Takeda Castle in the early morning.
This schedule focuses on Autumn leaves spots. Thus, it is better to travel during the end of Nov as that is the best time to enjoy Autumn Foliage. Besides, for some days, the route might be a bit tough, you can skip any place you want. For example, on day 3, if you like to enjoy tuna cut show, it is better to leave hotel and depart early.

Below is the summary of itinerary :
Day 1 : Arrive Osaka – Osaka city tour, photo stop at Osaka castle, Kuromon Ichiba market, Minoo Park and Falls, Umeda Sky Building Floating garden.
Day 2 : Osaka – Kobe, photo stop Kobe port and Kobe Harbourland, Shin-Kobe rope way and Nunobiki Herb Garden (enjoy Kobe beef for lunch) – Arima onsen – Osaka.
Day 3 : Osaka – Wakayama, enjoy Persimmon picking, Yuasa Soy Sauce factory, Marina city for Kuroshio market with tuna cut show (if time permits) – Osaka.
Day 4 : Osaka – Hoshida park with Hoshino Buranko- Nara, visit Todaiji Temple-Unesco World Heritage + Deer Park, Kasuga Taisha-Unesco World Heritage - Osaka.
Day 5 : Osaka – Kyoto, visit Arashiyama area with Tenryuji Temple-Unesco World Heritage, Bamboo Forest and Hozugawa river cruise/Sagano Scenic Railway, Fushimi Inari – Osaka.
Day 6 : Osaka – Kyoto, visit Golden Pavilion-Unesco World Heritage, Nishiki market, Kiyomizu Temple-Unesco World Heritage, Daigoji Temple-Unesco World Heritage – Osaka.
Day 7 : Osaka – Amanohashidate, visit Kasamatsu Park, Ine No Funaya - Osaka.
Day 8 : Osaka – Himeiji Castle-Unesco World Heritage– Takeda Castle ruins - Osaka
Day 9 : Free day for hands-on activities like Takoyaki making, Cup noodle making, Food sample making and shopping in Osaka.
Day 10 : Departure.

Have you heard about World Heritage named Shirakawago Village with Gassho Style houses? It is very beautiful and sparkling in winter, especially during light-up time. And also Nabana No Sato winter illumination, one of the most well-know illumination in Japan?

In Japan, January is a low season in most regions and you will get good international flight fare, good accommodation rate. But not because of off season, you will not be able to see heart-breaking scenery. Imagine, you will still have a nice trip at good price and strolling along the streets that not crowded at all. Yes it will be a bit cold, but you will not be regretful.

Continue with previous post, today I will show you how to go by public transportation for 7 days 6 nights in out Osaka.

Following that route, total expenses for transportation within Japan will be around JPY 27,900 + taxi fare for some days (for departure from Kansai airport).

However, if you use JR pass, you will save up about JPY 7,000 for the whole trip and I think it is a good choice.

Good morning every one and wish you a nice new week.

Today's post is a suggestion for still in out Osaka, but 7 days 6 nights and the route is different. Following this route, you can use the ISE-WKAYAMA-KUMANO pass (the tourist pass allow you to use many JR trains and buses at good rate issued by JR group, the biggest and most popular Japan railway company in Japan) which make your trip much more economical. For its detail, I will show you in the next post with how to go by public transportation.
