Faerie Bear Art shop is the culmination of a lifetime of artwork and aspiration. I have been creating art my entire life, both to process trauma and to dream of a world of radical love (including self-love) free of violence and oppression. All my artwork is therefore centered around survivorship, resiliency, experiences of multiple marginalization, recovery/healing, wellness, and engagement with s
ocio-political Movement building. I hope my art serves to empower marginalized people, uplift the voices of Organizers and Leaders who have contributed to violence prevention and social change, and to educate marginalized people about the histories of our communities and people which are often erased by mainstream writings. Besides accomplishing these things through artwork, 10% of all my profits go to BreakOUT! Youth, a QTPOC youth led organization in the South that works towards decriminalization of QTPOC. As a white q***r and trans artist, it is imperative that my work stands in solidarity with communities of color and works towards liberation and wellness of Black bodies. The name of the shop comes from my favorite nickname given to me by my partner (Faerie Bear), as a celebration of my gender fabulous identities and experiences and a bit of a q***r pun. : )
