Q: Is it safe to go to Mexico?
A:Because I can't guarantee your safety anywhere, I have to be careful answering this. Crime in the Cancun/Riviera Maya is almost non-existent if you're not planning to buy or sell drugs. The Cancun/Riviera Maya area saw over 20 million tourists in 2023 alone. Adding to the safety factor, many resorts are gated with armed guards. Once outside of the hotel zone, in areas such as Costa Mujeres or the Riviera Maya, crime rates plummet. Want to help yourself? Don't get drunk or high. Don't roam around at night outside the resort area looking for trouble. Remember: Life is still life, even in paradise.

Q: If I book directly on a cruise line's website, will it be cheaper than if you book it for me, since I'm not paying commission?
A: Nope. Commission is built into the cruise fare, whether you book it yourself or not. Booking directly doesn't save you any money. The cruise company pockets that commission, leaving you to figure out the boarding process, required documents, and everything else on your own. Even if you know the exact cruise ship, date, and itinerary you want to go on, sending it to me and allowing me to book it supports my small business, and gives you my services and experience at no cost! (Psst. I usually gift my clients some on board credit too)

Q: How do you get paid since you don't charge any fees?
A: Great question! Similar to other professions such as realtors or car salesmen, I work on commission. When I book your cruise, resort, excursions, rental cars, or tour, the supplier I book through pays me a commission after you travel. When does this backfire resulting in hours of work for no pay? Sometimes the client takes the info I provide in a proposal and books the trip on their own, which means I worked for them for free. That's no fun and does make me frustrated. But sometimes, clients genuinely have a change in circumstances and either can't book the trip or have to cancel. I completely understand and have zero bad feelings about it. Neither happens very often, which is why I choose not to charge planning or consultation fees. ☺️

Q: I found cheaper flights on Expedia than on the airline websites. Should I book them?
A: I wouldn't. Booking flights through a third party website can lead to HUGE headaches if your flights are delayed, cancelled, or if you miss a connection. Expedia also lists the basic economy seats first, which means you don't get to pick your seat, can't make any changes, and sometimes can't carry on any luggage in the overhead bin. Your best bet is to book directly on the airline's website, and to book main cabin economy, not basic. When I package your flights with resorts, I no longer use any third party sites, and will only book on the airline's travel agent sites, or with one of my suppliers that offers direct chartered flights.

Q: Aren't most all-inclusive resorts in Mexico the same? We just want the cheapest, best deal!
A. No, no you don't. When you're picking a restaurant for dinner, do you automatically search for the cheapest? If you're at the grocery store, do you always purchase hotdogs instead of steak because they're cheaper? When you need a new pair of gym shoes, do you go to Dollar General? If you do, that's TOTALLY fine, but for the most part, you're not buying the cheapest things. You want your all-inclusive stay to have a nice clean room, with lots of restaurants and food options, beautiful views, multiple pools, and probably right on the beach. You don't want a resort with bad food, only having the option of that yellow looking greasy tub of mystery from the buffet. You don't want a room overlooking an abandoned building, with cracked plastic chairs around a dirty pool.
There are close to 200 all-inclusive resorts in the Cancun/Riviera Maya area. Some have great beaches, some have small beaches but awesome pools, some are massive resort complexes while others are small boutique properties. You can stay in resorts that feel modern and chic, or natural and jungley. Want quiet, serene spaces, or lots of activities and entertainment?

Q. Thanks for booking our family vacation including a few days at Disney World before our Royal Caribbean cruise out of Port Canaveral. We're thinking about driving to Orlando rather than flying. How does parking at the cruise port work? Do we have to drag our luggage all the way from the parking garage to the cruise ship?
A. Parking at Port Canaveral is easy peasy, not complicated at all. Once you're near the port, follow the signs to Terminal 5 parking, and you'll see your ship as you drive up! There is a free luggage drop off at the garage BEFORE you go park! Make sure you have your cruise luggage tags attached (which we send to you in your cruise documents), which will tell the porters which stateroom to deliver your bags to. Parking at Port Canaveral is $17/day, due at the time you park, not at exit. If you decide to fly into Orlando instead of driving, I'll book you a shuttle to take you from your Disney resort to the cruise port.
