1๏ธโฃTravel agents cost more money
While some agents do charge a research or booking fee, it typically does not cost you more to use an agent! Agents are paid a commission by the supplier when you, as the client, travel. We, at H&K, do not mark up any pricing! What you see if what you get! AND-many times, we are able to offer you better rates than what you see online because we have relationships with suppliers!
2๏ธโฃ I can do all this myself-why would I need an agent?
While you could do it yourself, why not trust a professional? You *could* cut and color your own hair, but is that the wisest choice?? Plus, why not let someone else sit on the phone for hours to rebook your flight when the blizzard blows in unexpectedly a day early and you need to get home?
3๏ธโฃ I wonโt get to pick what I want if I use an agent!
Thereโs not much to say to this exceptโฆFALSE! Part of our job is to ask you what you like and donโt like, want and donโt want,etc. And then we listen and craft your vacation options! You have as much say and control as you want!
4๏ธโฃ Travel agents are a thing of the past
Nope. We do many trainings each year as well as travel as many places as we can to ensure that we are providing the most current and reliable information to our clients.
5๏ธโฃ Travel agents are being shady if they donโt send me the cheapest price
We pride ourselves on knowing all the ins and outs of a destination and product, and sometimes that means we donโt offer the cheapest optjon. For example, we know if, at a certain resort, โresort viewโ means dumpster view {and smell!} and if that smell will keep you up all night! So even though you donโt think you care about the view, we know better than to put you in that room category!
6๏ธโฃ Every travel agent is the same.
While all agents may have some things in common, we are not all the same. It is important to find the agent that fits best with what you are looking for! While we would love to help every client that comes to us, there are times where we feel like we are not the best fit, and we share that with the client and recommend a different agent, if possible! We are about helping, not just making the sale.
