Time to get out and start chalking. This was in the Union Sun & Journal a few days ago. Lots of great mural work all over the county.

There is an update for those who venture out looking for our murals to color. The Wilson mural is now painted over and no longer part of the trail. All other murals are available for your creativity.

Please join us in welcoming the City of Lockport, Village of Newark, and City of Rome into the Empire State Trail Town program for 2023 🎉

Recognized for their commitment to improving the trail user experience, these three communities will be given the tools to more effectively harness visitation to the 360-mile Erie Canalway Trail the east-west leg of the Empire State Trail.

In addition to improving trail users’ experience, the program seeks to foster long-term economic, health, and quality-of-life benefits for communities by supporting and promoting them as premiere EST destinations.

Over the next 9 months, these communities will work with PTNY and NYS Canal Corporation to create a strong and dedicated network of local partners, conduct baseline research and assessments, develop promotional resources and strategies, and create and adopt action agendas to guide future Trail Town work. Upon completion of the program, the communities will be recognized as certified Empire State Trail Towns.

For those curious minds. The Niagara County Entertainment, LLC business has closed. The website is in a deactivation state to preserve the data, hopefully someone (with a team) will take up the cause and continue on. However, there are other pending deadlines that will force permanent closure. They occur in May. The social media pages will stay active (and transfer over with new ownership of the website).

Facebook business page - Niagara County Entertainment this is where you can post things about the local entertainment industry that are newsworthy but not considered an event. Local Music videos, Local Art tutorials, Pictures from the event you attended.

This is for upcoming local event announcements only. Everything else will be removed including events from outside Niagara County.

The YouTube page will stay active (pending interaction). In the "playlist" area there are several great videos about our local treasures. It could be stuff you already know or things you never knew about, enjoy.

The website platform is truly the best calendar system available in WNY & beyond. It can be very profitable BUT you need a team (something I was never able to secure).

As of December 31st, 2022: The website, our social media presence, and other business assets will be closed or cease to exist.

It's been a great run and we've met lots of talented people, wonderful venues, caring organizations, and enthusiastic event planners over the years.

The website is a licensed service provided by a great company in Montana called . This website is without a doubt the premier event calendar in WNY and beyond. The bells and whistles included with the website and on the backend are second to none.

We averaged about 1000-5000 visitors each month (depending on the season) and almost 4000 members in the Facebook group.

However, it can be saved if another group of people are willing to take it over. It will take a team to operate this effectively. There are about 500 venues in Niagara County and they produce about 6000-7000 events each year. I did what I could by myself. It's easy to learn and I will stay on long enough for a smooth transition.

If interested in saving this business for the benefit of tourists, citizens, or the local economy so they can find all the things off the beaten path. Let us know. It's a great idea and no other website calendar system is this robust.

The NT Rec Dept is currently looking for businesses, organizations, and individuals to take part in our annual Haunted Harbor event taking place on October 22.

Each group will be given at least a 10x10 space they can decorate in the kid-friendly Halloween theme of their choice. Give the kids something fun to visit as they trick or treat for the evening. Decorating your vehicle as a trunk or treat station is also a really fun way to participate!!

Gift card/prizes will be awarded to the top two decorated spaces!!
Deadline to register is October 19.
