Hi! We are excited that you are interested in learning more about us and our love of all things Disney! We met in college in the fall of 1997 at Cumberland College (now known as the University of the Cumberlands) in an Environmental Science class that Holly really had no business taking. It was here, though, that we became friends and started dating. But it was in Dr. Semmel's class, "The History of Animation" where we realized that we shared a love for animation.
We were married in 2000 and had our first child, Merritt, in the spring of 2001. Holly knew she wanted Merritt to grow up going to Disney and sharing that same love of animation that his parents shared and wanting him to appreciate all the Disney has to offer. When Merritt was old enough to remember, we planned a trip and visited Walt Disney World in what was Bert and Merritt’s first, of many, trips. We travel to Walt Disney World multiple times a year, are proud annual pass holders and are even known to run (or walk) in a few runDisney events (well Holly at least). We also have a pre-teen daughter who is a walking Disney World map and has an over-the-top collected of Disney Tsum Tsum’s and an impressive collection of Mickey Ear Headbands.
