As a volunteer coordinator at our local hospice for 17 years, I taught volunteers how to be present at the bedside, visited patients and their families to assist them with their journeys, participated as an integral part of a palliative care team, supported 50+ volunteers, and took part in community outreach. I had the divine pleasure of teaching Reiki, journaling, aromatherapy, silent contemplati
on, art at the bedside, lighten up with laughter and caring clown college. My journey with hospice, as all journeys, came to an end – or perhaps, just an end to that chapter. I learned so much, met so many people, built relationships, and made lasting friendships. I had a marvelous opportunity to travel to develop presentations and present at conferences nationally. Leaving hospice in April 2013, I took a few months to myself to clear my mind and re-discover my authentic self. I realized how much I missed my creativity. I found myself whole again. I create. I want to help others be caregivers, care partners. We all need a toolbox of skills in which to rely on to care for others as well as ourselves. The skills within are different for each of us. I offer to show you ways that you can incorporate in your life to encourage you to live with intention. The Spiritual Wall Hangings are a tangible way to create your own sacred space, a visible example of intention. The fabric is quilted. The pockets at the bottom are to place your intentions, notes of gratitude, prayer requests, daily affirmation or crystals. Whatever supports you to create your sacred space. That is different for each of us. However, we are one. Unique. Together we are threads that build the tapestry of our human experience. Let me invite you to live with intention.
