Stichting Studiereizen Chemiestudenten - SSC The SSC is a non-profit foundation of study tours for Pharmaceutical Sciences and Chemistry students of the VU University Amsterdam

The SSC is the Dutch abbreviation for “Stichting Studiereizen Chemiestudenten”, which translates into the non-profit foundation of study tours for chemistry students. The SSC is part of the VU University of Amsterdam´s Pharmaceutical Sciences and Chemistry study organization. It is run entirely by students present in both departments. The organization is officially independent of the Pharmaceutica

l Science & Chemistry student association VCSVU. The organization was founded in 1992 to organize educative, enriching and inspiring study tours for both Bachelor – and Master students of the Pharmaceutical Sciences program as well as the Chemistry program. To date, the SSC has organized a total of 13 study tours to various parts of the world. The most recent trip being in 2013 and took place in Singapore and Indonesia. In April 2015 the SSC Board of 2014/2015 organized a study tour to Japan visiting Osaka, Kobe, Nara and Kyoto.
