After extensive contemplation and based on reports from ground we have decided to go ahead with our scheduled trips (Both Shogran and Kalam). The decision was based on three main reasons:
1) The areas we are going to have stayed safe in the earthquake. All roads are clear and hotels and adjoining areas are completely safe for any tourist activity.
2) Tourism is a major source of livelihood for the people of those areas and by not going we would send a negative message to them and adversely impact their earnings.
3) We understand that the trauma of the disaster is immense and memories of the event will be fresh in minds of the locals. We benefit from their resources and manpower and have humanitarian and social responsibility towards them. Therefore we have decided to add our two pence in the relief efforts being carried out in the quake-affected areas. We will inform you of the exact details of how we will be going about it and how you can help. Any suggestions regarding relief efforts are welcome.
Both trips are very much ON and as before you can register here if you already haven't: http://goo.gl/forms/IU6ELTCnX8.
We will begin collecting payments tomorrow and if you have registered you will soon receive a text message about the time and venue of collection.

As you all know the earthquake that hit the country today has had a greater impact in the Northern parts of Pakistan where valuable lives have been lost. Travelicious extends its heartfelt condolences to the families and friends of the victims. Our foremost concern right now is the safety and well-being of the people of areas affected by the earthquake. As for the scheduled trips, we will get back to you soon after assessing the situation on ground and will inform you in case we feel that the community needs assistance from our end. We request you to keep the victims of this natural disaster in your thoughts and prayers.

Recently a lot of allegations have been mounted against us that we trashed a campsite in Naltar Valley and left without cleaning it. As anyone on the trip will second the fact that we made everyone clean up the campsite and pile up all the trash to one side on 30th May 2015. The following is the sequence of events that happened:

1. We stayed at the campsite from 28-30 May 2015. There was continuous rainfall on 28 and 29 May 2015. Consequently, we had to compile the garbage and leave it to dry before we burning it when we left the campsite on 30 May 2015.

2. The camp staff left the site for a while to clear up the catering equipment, etc. and left the garbage pile to dry.

3. In the meantime a freelancer arrived at the campsite, took a photograph and left a few hours later. During the same time (or a little after) the camp staff returned and disposed the garbage pile after collecting whatever was scattered here and there around it in ENTIRETY.

4. The freelancer then posted the photo on Facebook on 8 June 2015 without due diligence and it got viral from there. Someone even registered and FIR against the camp staff, and the staff cleared the matter with the local police by showing them the clean campsite.

Some of you have been very patiently waiting for a response from us and we would like to thank you for that. While others have been criticizing us publicly, we were investigating the matter and wanted to ensure no stone was left unturned.

To re-iterate, the Naltar campsite is clean and garbage-free.
