Forget Queensland, Sydney's popular coastal attractions or Tasmania's Bay of Fires… a Victorian beach has been named Australia's best for 2024.

Squeaky Beach, in the state's south-east, is the first Victorian beach to claim the title.

Important information for anyone heading down to Hastings Caves this week.

The pool will be closed all week, reopening Monday 22nd January.

For more information - see below 👇🏻

⛔️ Closure alert ⛔️
If you're planning on heading to the Hastings area this coming week, please be aware Hastings Springs Reserve will be closed from Monday 15 January 2024 for important pool maintenance. The Reserve walks and barbecues are expected to reopen Wednesday 17 January, with the pool reopening Monday 22 January 2024.

Don't despair - there is still plenty to see and do in the area, with the spectacular underground world of Hastings (Newdegate) Cave, several short walks, or that end-of-the-earth drive experience out to Cockle Creek, Australia's southernmost point accessible by road.

Tick off that bucket list item by making the journey to the southernmost point at Cockle Creek!

And what better way to experience it than by taking part in this iconic full marathon run by The Compass Club

Definitely a once in a lifetime opportunity!

Hi everyone,

Pleased to finally announce this year's event dates for the Cockle Creek half and full marathons.

I know there is a date clash with some other bigger events, but to be honest, that happens most of the year anyway which is a good and bad thing 😀.

Those 42km runners who were entered in the 2022 Cockle Creek full marathon will automatically have their entries rolled over to this event. Unfortunately that only leaves roughly 25 spots left for the Sunday October 15 marathon to Australia's most southern point.

As always, the 21km half marathon will be run on the Saturday morning, this year being the 14th of October.

Both routes are the same as last year.
