Make your New Year’s resolutions stick! 📝💫

Studies show that writing down your goals increases commitment and success. Every year, I make it a tradition to write down a few short-term and long-term goals, as well as new things I would like to do or try and places I would like to visit. Then I reflect on the previous year’s progress. 🎉
This year, I’m proud to say I achieved 10 out of 15 goals! 🙌

For the last few years, several of my New Year’s Goals had to do with trying to live more sustainably, and this year will be no different. 🌎💚

While reducing my environmental footprint is important to me, I also have goals focused on personal growth, relationships, and community. 🌈

Overall, writing down New Year’s Resolutions can be a powerful tool for achieving goals and making positive changes in one’s life. 📝💪

So, what goals will you make this year to:
✨ Better your health and life?
✨ Better your relationships with friends and family?
✨ Better your community?
✨ Better the world? 🌎

Share your goals with us in the comments! 💬

Clucking good deal! 🐓💦
This chicken tender (ha 🤣 see what I did there) just scored herself the most egg-cellent rain boots EVER! 🥚

I used my scratch-it winnings to treat myself to some much needed new rain boots, and I’m over the moon! 🌕 Cause not only are they brightly colored, but they’re covered in CHICKENS! 🐓❤️

Deck the halls with eco-friendly cheer! 🎄🌿
As we celebrate the holiday season, let’s not forget to reduce, reuse, and recycle! 💡

Portland area residents, check out the helpful tips in this post provided by the Bureau of Planning and Sustainability:

✨ Recycle your non-plastic coated wrapping paper, cards, and packaging materials.
✨ Compost your food waste (including spoiled or moldy food), yard trimmings, and I decorated trees and wreaths
✨ Collect your batteries for recycling in a 1-quart, zip-sealed bag and put in your Glass Collection Bin
✨ Properly dispose of tablets like string lights, ribbon, bows, and anything coated in glitter.

And don’t forget about your tree! 🎄
After the holidays, recycle it at one of Portland’s many drop-off locations or schedule a curbside pickup.

Stay ahead of the game and plan for pickup delays due to holidays and winter weather. Sign-up or Download the city’s free garbage day reminders app to get alerts when collection is weather delayed. 🥶

Let’s work together to make this holiday season a sustainable one! 🌟 ♻️

Happy America Recycles Day! ♻️🇺🇸♻️

Today, November 15th, marks America Recycles Day!
This annual observance encourages individuals, communities, and organizations to prioritize recycling and reduce waste.

Here at I created a Recycle Station for my friends and neighbors to drop off items that CANNOT be recycled curbside but CAN be recycled by third-party organizations who have confirmed Responsible End Markets for the items.

This is the bi-weekly newsletter I created and shared with my neighbors. In the first month we have now diverted 7.7lbs from our city’s Landfill!

🌱💙💚🌎💚💙♻️💙💚🌎💚💙♻️💙💚🌱

Processing the election results and trying to find positivity! 🌈💪

Last night, I began channeling my anxiety and energy into building a bigger Recycling Resource section at my still so new ‘Rhone Street Recycling Station’ 📚♻️.

In my brain, it’s that little something which I can do that is positive…sharing sustainability resources and trying to spread love and kindness! 💞

As I reflect on the election, I can’t help but think about how essential good sportsmanship is, especially during challenging times 🏆💕.

I know it has NOT been displayed much this election cycle, but it’s crucial to help us focus on bettering our lives, our communities, and OUR planet! 🌎💖

No matter how you voted, I hope that you are actively trying to find ways to spread love, kindness, belonging, and positivity in your community and the world around you!
🌎❤️

“A house divided cannot stand!”

Let’s Make a Conscious Choices to Spread Love and Kindness

Start with Yourself
Believe in yourself, use positive affirmations, and practice gratitude 🙏.
· Smile at yourself when you look in the mirror
· Write down your achievements and things you’re proud of
· Be grateful for the people and things in your life

Connect with Others
Listen to someone who needs to talk, thank people for their efforts, and surprise loved ones with small gestures 🤗.
· Spend quality time with family and friends
· Pass on your knowledge and skills
· Treat all people as equals!

Support Your Community
Volunteer, donate to local charities, and participate in neighborhood initiatives 🌈.
· Help someone with directions
· Donate to a good cause
· Stand up for injustice!

Care for Our Environment
Recycle, reduce meat intake, conserve water and energy, and make conscious choices 🌎.
· Pick up rubbish
· Plant a tree
· Adopt an endangered animal

We NEED to work together and work even harder to create positive change going forward! 💖
