We will make it worth your while and will share great stories and videos from our adventures.

Want to hear about how Extremity Project co-founder Josh Miramant got into BASE jumping?

Josh stopped by The Journey Podcast to tell about how it all came together. As well as his insights on learning, risk and digital-nomading.

"I've come to any revelations only through trying to find the most interesting or fun path." - Josh Miramant I was recently asked "Who's the craziest person you know?" and without hesitation I immedi

This is why you don't buy a cheap GoPro mount on the streets of Phuket, Thailand...you tend to get what you pay for.

1st jump from the Boatman Exit on Tonsai, Thailand. Camera fell 60 meters and still worked...kinda.

Stas does it again. Epic 333rd BASE jump with a triple gainer at 110 meters. No one throws gainers with as much style.

I brought a 360 degree GoPro mount along for the ride.

Sky Nets have been popping up, but this is another level. Sketchy Andy has been a true innovator with these.

Two independent nets, thousands of meters of lines/webbing, 65 volunteers, equals something truly epic.

The quote of day: "It brings me to tears to see all these people working together to create something so out there."

*The second photo is any making the inaugural high line after it was initially erected. Pretty amazing to see.

Good article. After spending so much time around this sport the last few months, I definitely don't understand the reasoning behind outlawing it. I was just in Lauterbrunnen where people were raining off the cliffs. The rest of the tourists would stop and oh and ah and thought it was cool to have seen it and then move on with their day. The jumpers that I saw and spoke with were all very conscious of the regulations that were in place, (they have done a great job with the rules there. Seemed to me to be very fair for everyone), and they all seemed to take it very seriously so they didn't jeopardize their right to jump. In Lauterbrunnen, the cliffs are shared between BASE jumpers, paragliders, speed wing fliers as well as tourists, hikers and climbers. From what I saw, it all seemed to go smoothly and everyone looked like they were having a lot of fun. I see no reason why they can't do the same thing in Yosemite and other places in the US...
If anyone has more insight or thoughts on this one way or the other, please share as I would love to hear more facts and/or opinions on this...

Some photos from my Suspension BASE jump.

Before you ask me why, I ask you why not?

Suspension has been a form of body-mutilation around for thousands of years, originating from religious ceremonies. It's modernized and has been growing in popularity. Most experience it as reflective and meditative activity, but everyone brings their own reasons and motivations.

I was motivated by trying something entirely new and different, far beyond both my understanding and my normal. I didn't have any experience that prepared me for the mental unfamiliarity of piercing my back, attaching a canopy and jumping from a cliff.

It's not often that you're presented with an opportunity to experience something completely unique and unfamiliar. I had no answer to the question 'Why', before I jumped.

Suspension BASE embodies something much more important than the activity itself. It's an affirmation that there is value in pushing far beyond your own self-defined limits. It's a stark reminder, that mental barriers are malleable.

To get close to a 'Why' without actually throwing yourself off of a cliff, George Mallory summed it up well when reflecting on becoming the first person to summit Everest:

"Have we gained success? That word means nothing here.

Have we won a kingdom? No... and yes. We have achieved an ultimate satisfaction... fulfilled a destiny...

To struggle and to understand - never this last without the other; such is the law...”

Just finished authoring a post on why I BASE Jump.

I'd love to hear your thoughts about risk.

Being new to BASE jumping, I've found myself defending the decision to get into an undeniably deadly sport. However, much to my mother's dismay, it's far too fun to quit due to risk. So what is it ...
