I’m missing these warm mornings with brilliant sunrises (while I’m sipping my coffee & watching the tide change). 😉 ☕️

Did you know that there is a lichen that grows on pine trees in Maine? It’s called ‘usnea’ (aka, ‘old man’s beard’ or ‘goat’s beard’).

Often referred to as ‘moss’, it’s indeed a lichen. It’s typically seen along coastal Maine or interior forests where the air is humid.

It’s used in various medicines to aid weight loss, fever control, wound healing, and it contains a high level of Vitamin C.

Now you know. 😉

We already have our first bookings for 2025 and we’re so excited for warm weather and opening-up our Little ‘g’ Cottage!...

We stayed in our Little ‘g’ Cottage last night, for the first time since we finished the interior two years ago. I REALLY loved it.

I’m impressed with how soundproof it is (a pat on the back to Mr G & I for our insulation work); however, the inside of the cottage was TOO quiet. I’m an incredibly light sleeper, so I heard every click of the baseboard heaters as they warmed-up. I heard an occasional soft rubbing sound from one of the ceiling fans (we’ll def try to fix that). The refrigerator when it kicked on. 🤦‍♀️
Why did no one tell me this? 😵‍💫🤣

So (!!) next year the cottage will have a sound machine for those light sleepers like myself. It can be adjusted to rain or white noise, thunderstorms or birds and volume-adjusted as well. 🎶😴👍

Just a small thing, I know, but perhaps important for someone’s restful night. 🛌 💤

Pardon the immense photo dump, but I’m storing the newest photos of the big house & a few of the guest cottage here. 😊

Our new loveseat is now officially IN the cottage. It’s so much nicer than the rattan one that we had, imo. Love it. Love the colour. Love the way that it sits (cushy on the t***y).

So much so that I decided to do a mini photo shoot. We’ll be closed-up for the Winter as of Saturday. Always so sad to say goodbye….

This morning, ‘Momma’ (and her doe friend) were waiting for us at the bottom of our (three) front steps.

Mr G smashed a fresh pumpkin for them and I snapped a few photos.

This is why I often tell guests about Momma (she’s the one with the ripped right ear) and to grab some apples for her. She loves her treats!

Since rental season has now come to an end, we’ve just installed multiple cameras (and/or tweaked the views of ones that we already have), to keep an eye on the tides, the snowfalls, the deer, etcetera. If anything exciting happens, I’ll share it here. 😁🥰

We had just arrived at our Maine houses on Friday. As we were pulling down the drive, I had my head out of the window, calling for our doe, Momma. Within 5 minutes she was there and had brought a friend. She was rewarded with smashed pumpkins, one of her favorites, and I began to videotape.

She was not even 10 feet away from me. A rustling plastic bag behind me kept spooking her a bit.

Feel free to turn the sound off. I constantly woo & coo and click at her to get her accustomed to my voice.

Momma is the one with the rip in her right ear.

I know that I don’t often mention ‘the big house’, The G Spot Maine, because it’s no longer an open rental; although it can be rented by special request.

To those who have stayed in the cottage and have looked across to the big house and wondered ‘what does that one look like inside?’. Well, here’s a peek. 👀
