The Networked Traveller A forty-something female traveller, connecting with friends and making new ones along the way. Come along and join me!

I am a forty-something female traveller, touring the world since 1995. I have also travelled extensively throughout my favourite country and my home – Australia. Among my friends, I am known as the networking queen after completing my MBA in 2006 with an address book thicker than my lecture pad. Many of my trips are planned around visits with friends to share in the mundane and exciting experience

s of their lives. I think nothing of detouring 2000km out of my way to catch up. Highlights have included weddings in Bangalore, Bangkok and Eindhoven, an MBA reunion in Oslo, birthdays at Oktoberfest and Whistler and backyard BBQs in Windsor, Calgary and Vicchio. For me travel is about the experiences shared, not the places seen. There is nothing more valuable to me than the local knowledge of my friends.

An awesome weekend!

At the Muttaburra Races in Queensland's heart, autumn's breeze set the stage. I photographed the day's elegance with thrilling horse races and fashionable attendees. Between races, kids' hobby horse and sack races stole the spotlight, while adults competed in a humorous weetbix contest. A day of sty

Queensland’s new fossil emblem is the Muttaburrasaurus Langdoni!

The public vote was announced today from 12 shortlisted fossils.

Named after local grazier, Doug Langdon uncovered the fossilised skeleton of a dinosaur. The Muttaburrasaurus Langdoni was a land living, plant eating dinosaur that roamed the earth 100 million years ago.

The discovery of the skeleton was the first of its kind in Australia and you can see a lifelike replica at the Muttaburrasaurus Interpretation Centre in Muttaburra (1220kms northwest of Brisbane).

Dinosaur spotting!

There are many places you can 'spot' dinosaurs in Outback Queensland. There are world class attractions where you can learn more or you can even dig for them and find a piece of history.

One location is Muttaburra. Along with many public art pieces you can visit the Muttaburrasaurus Interpretation Centre. It's home to a replica of Muttaburrasaurus Langdoni, a land living, plant eating dinosaur that roamed the earth 100 million years ago.
