Hang with me at Universal! Today we utilized early park admission to enter Islands of Adventure an hour before official park opening. After a few hours, we walked over to Universal Studios where we explored and had lunch. Such a good day. â¤ď¸â¨
When I first traveled with Ada, she was 7 months old and I was â¨scared⨠but it turns out- traveling with a baby is a TON easier than traveling with a toddler đ¤Ş
The basics:
⨠you can bring WHATEVER baby items you need - breastmilk, formula, bottled water for bottles, baby food, ice packs for breastmilk â all are okay in any quantity for domestic flights! Just let TSA know in advance and plan accordingly- TSA with a baby takes a few extra minutes.
â¨Having a car seat on the flight is considered best practice and DOES make your flight so much easier than just holding your baby for the flight - but Iâve also held Ada for an entire flight alone, and itâs harder as they get bigger but itâs doable! They can be considered lap babies until their 2nd birthday.
â¨Gate check your big baby items! Have a car seat or stroller you want to check for the flight? Do it at the gate instead of at the bag check desk. This means you can keep your stroller with you the entire time up until walking onto the plane + itâs the first item off so you can load the kiddo(s) up before you head to pick up your bags!
⨠have the right gear! Backpack or backpack style diaper bags work best to lighten your load while traveling, consider bringing a carrier especially for boarding when they eventually need to come out of the stroller, and other convenience items come in clutch - a portable changing pad for public restrooms, bottle warmer if baby prefers warmed milk, and NEW small toys that they donât play with at home!
But I know that with all the travel tips in the world⌠it still feels like a lot to travel with little ones, especially a baby! Thatâs why I am here ⨠plan that next vacation with someone who has been in your shoes!

The fun thing about taking your babies at different ages is seeing them grow up and play in the same spots every year. These videos are just over a year apart from each other and I canât wait to see next yearâs version â¨

Thereâs very few things in this world that make a small child happier than a bubble wand đĽ˛
We are starting to hit the age where Ada loves - and wants - everything. My biggest tip at combatting this is giving your kiddo a gift card with a set amount on it. They can spend it on whatever they want, but when itâs gone, itâs gone. Ada is still a *little* too young to understand this concept, but we will begin implementing it on the next trip!
But in the mean time⌠we got the bubble wand. đĽ°
