Our puppy loves to be outside, so you might see him soaking up some rays through your 10 foot windows. If you’re a dog fan, please say “hello”! I can’t say that I’ve ever decorated magnolias, but our red bud branches were pruned too high to safely reach this year. We found a way to create a festive view for our Fowler House guests!

At Fowler House, we are always looking for ways to serve our guests better. When we opened in 2018, there were few smart lock options for our European-style door, so we chose the best one we could. Our guests haven’t always loved it though, and we’ve continually looked for an upgrade. We finally found a new, fantastic solution: The !

Cooler weather has returned to Portland this week and hopefully we won’t experience major wildfire smoke this season. We are prepared to attend to our guests’ air quality though! We recently put this 311i Max in Fowler House PDX to supplement the HVAC air filtration if necessary. It’s just one of our efforts to ensure health - with beautiful design - for our guests.

A recent guest described Fowler House as a “peaceful enclave”. We love that, as we strive toward an aesthetic and spirit of peace here. recently trimmed everything up so the “wild” doesn’t overrun our peace, and your host is loving this view and this moment after a busy day.

We had fun tonight updating our in-house guidebook to our favorite local shops, restaurants, and bars. Arbor Lodge is a wonderful neighborhood with dedicated local proprietors who make it easy to enjoy.

to our very first award, 5 years ago today. We opened in 2018 to prepare an eventual home for our aging parents, while offering hospitality in the meantime.

We are grateful that the parents are still happy, healthy, and living nearby. We are also amazed that we have hosted nearly 400 guests and their families in our AIA-award-winning . It’s been a joy and privilege to meet people from around the world, while offering , , and beautiful accommodations.

Just over 20 minutes from Fowler House is picturesque Sauvie Island, with public riverfront beaches and wonderful farms. It’s easy to spend a day there picking fruit in season or just exploring. When you get hungry, we recommend the grill at where you can also buy produce to cook in the Fowler House kitchen. Enjoy!
