Me and an old friend. We named this male shark Nubs in October 2014, just after he lost the top half of his dorsal fin. One of the more chilled & d***y sharks that visit Mossel Bay, and one of the crews favourites. 📸 .t

Is this a sign of intelligence or just a random bait approach?

Don't Act Like Prey - Clip 2- White Shark Seriously Checks Out Diver
One of several short segments from an interview with Walter Bernardis Three of the clips revolve around the topic of "not acting like prey" as Walter is asked to explain some interactions in his footage. All of us, even those as experienced as Walter, have learning moments. These moments allow us to examine our behavior, adapt, and change so as to more successfully coexist with other creatures on this planet, particularly creatures we are afraid of.
This first clip involves a large tiger shark. Clips two and three involve a white shark - You can watch the full 'Don't Act Like Prey' segment of the interview here:

Take two minutes to be amazed by the effort sharks go to not to hurt each other in competitive situations!

What do you think? Is it the bait, the affection, or just tolerance? Or a mixture of the above?

Ever stop to wonder what the ultimate expectations of culling are? Do we really think we can have zero risk in the ocean?

Perhaps the most amazing thing witnessed in South Africa, even including the sharks, was this performance by our much loved bait handler, Seth. Interns Dan and Skyler return from a local bar to walk in on Seth in the middle of a serious jam session...a seriously intoxicated jam session. All I can say is you've got to watch this to the end, lol! Can't wait for the next season of Shark Interns! Go to Sharkinterns.com to learn how to join the fun.

The second trailer for 'Monsters'. Cute and cuddly animals aren't the only creatures that suffer when subjected to archaic methods of killing. Sharks are here for a reason and removing them only creates real issues to replace imagined ones.
Tiger shark footage filmed by Skyler Thomas, Epic Diving, and Sharks 4 Kids. Culled footage of sharks filmed by Rohan Sibon, Luke D'eat, Safia Maher. Voice acting by Brody Morse. Written and edited by Skyler Thomas.

A day at sea is cut short by an intern's poor bait handling. Repeatedly being outwitted by the sharks leads to the team running out of bait heads before the morning is over. Combined with lack of sleep and research deadlines approaching, the team's manners start to erode.
