Brussels, Belgium's and European capital city, is full of Art Deco taverns, unique Flemish art, Gothic cathedrals, quaint guild houses, a charming town and a perfect destination for any visitor profile.
In less than one hour driving, Antwerp, one of the world's significant seaports and Belgium's second-biggest city. The city is a magnet for everyone from fashion moguls and club queens to art lovers and diamond dealers. Heading south, Wallonia, a French-speaking region of southern Belgium. It's known for its medieval towns, Renaissance-era architecture and traditional Trappist beers. Last but not least, Luxembourg. The city feels like a symbiotic creation of nature and humankind: from the meandering Alzette river valley over the Bock Casemates to the modern buildings on the plateau in the distance.

In the green heart of Italy, there is a region that tells a story of villages with fantastic architecture that come to us directly from the Middle Age. Rich in artistic and beautiful treasures of unsurpassed historical, cultural and naturalistic value.
As with the regions with which it borders, you cannot miss the experience of wines and food.
For 2022 I, therefore, suggest visiting the pearls of Umbria:
Perugia is the capital, known for its defensive walls, the Gothic cathedral and an essential collection of artworks.
Assisi, the place where San Francesco was born, with the basilica of 1200, which on several levels offers priceless frescoes and in the crypt the stone sarcophagus of the saint.
Gubbio is a splendid medieval town with a cable car that leads to Mount Ingino, from which you can enjoy a fantastic view and visit the basilica of San Ubaldo with five naves.
Norcia is amazing. Located at the foot of the Sibylline Mountains, it is mainly known for its gastronomy, which includes wild boar, sausages and, above all, the black truffles.
And again, beautiful places such as Spoleto, Spello, Orvieto, the Marmore Falls and much more.

My favourite wine: MontefalcoSagrantino DOCG
My favourite hotel: Palazzo Seneca in Norcia
My favourite village in Umbria: della Pieve

Let's start with Luigi Nappo

My suggestion for 2022 is and its intriguing villages.
Wine isn't the only abundant (and excellent) thing you will find here: Burgundy is full of history at every turn.
For centuries, the duchy was more potent than France itself, and the dukes of Burgundy spent a fortune embellishing their capital, .
The city remains one of the region's greatest draws.
You could stay in the town of Beaune, surrounded by vineyards and explore castles, abbeys, hilltop villages and market towns, and, of course, wineries.
The best time to go is May, June, and September, even if I spent a week in November here and loved it!
My favourite hotels are HostJean-Marc Brocardpa , and the original LeCep, in Beune, the DE RYMSKA in Saint-Jean-de-Trézy, Chùteau Sainte-Sabine in Sainte-Sabine.
What to visit.
Do not miss the villages of -St-George, celebrated for its cru;
VĂ©zelay, listed as a World Heritage site by UNESCO with no more than 400 permanent inhabitants; Noyers-sur-Serein, awarded as "Most Beautiful Village of France", the magnificent Clos de Vougeot, the Abbey of Cluny and the incredible village of , where you will find one of the most appreciate white wine in the world.

My favourite village: -sur-Serein
My favourite winery: ChĂąteau de Pommard
My favourite white: Chablis Jean Marc Brocard
My favourite restaurant: Au Fil du Zinc in Chablis
My favourite chef: Adeline Borra-Aoust

Matera is an ancient city that seems to have existed forever. It is the third oldest city in the world, after Aleppo and Jericho, with over 10,000 years of history.
The rock caves, the rocky Murgia of Matera, and some primitive dwellings of the Sassi tell of ancient settlements.
Over time, Matera has seen the growth of various ethnic groups and monks who have stabilized and started to characterize the nature of this place of endless charm.
Hence real underground dwellings, in the belly of Mother Earth, will leave you speechless.
And in these cavities, were born the first houses ever built with local rock from the stone quarries. A bizarre architecture outlined an abnormal representation of buildings boxed into one another, creating a veritable tangle of alleys and small neighborhoods, where the roof of a house became the overlying floor and a wall torn down would often combine two adjacent rooms.
There is still a lot to tell about the water systems created to collect water, one of the elements that have helped to give in Matera the title of a World Heritage Site.
You can visit the most beautiful churches, starting from the Duomo on the Civita; walk through the beautiful streets and traffic-free squares, populated with people; you can enjoy the most picturesque alleys, and you will continue your visit in the heart of the two Sassi’s.

Bordeaux is a town of historical and modern monuments and landmarks with a rich artistic and architectonic heritage.
The elegant palaces, a legacy of the 18th-century former port, spread along the banks of the Garonne and its quays.
A walk along the banks of the River Garonne and the bay of the Gironde unveils culture, landscape, vineyards and enchanting castles.
Your guide will meet you in the heart of the city and start a 2-hour exploration of the city recently recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage site.
You will discover Place de la Bourse, the magnificent riverside square with a pool that rhythmically shifts mirror effects and artificial raining, the glittering Grand Theatre and the 11th-century Cathedral of St Andrew. This church was a significant stop along the French leg of the pilgrimage route to Santiago de Compostela.
Before leaving your guide, you will stop for a canelé, the most famous Bordeaux pastry whose history is linked to the wine world.
It's said that the first canelés were invented by nuns at the Couvert de L'Annociade de Bordeaux at the end of the 17th century using flour and egg-yellow given to nuns by winemakers who used egg whites to purify the wine.

Congratulations Cook!

Jenny is the first agent who gained The Travel Academy "Certificate of Excellence"

We are thrilled to share Jenny's feedback:
"Overall, I will give the course a 10 out of 10.
The format was educational and structured so that the highlights and information that is important to know were presented in a user-friendly format.
This past year we as agents have sat in on so many zoom presentations. At this point, most of that knowledge is gone.
The VIT course allowed me to use my brain and to work at getting the correct information"

The courses are self-paced, meaning you can learn at your speed.
The access is free for Travel Advisors.
