We’ve made it! Tango is officially on US soil.

This was hands down one of the most challenging shipping scenarios we’ve encountered to date, and we ended up having to pay thousands of extra dollars (more on that later) but today we’re we celebrating crossing the Canadian/US border and making to back to North Idaho!

These two vehicles mean more to us than we could ever put into words - not on the materialistic side but because all of the memories they hold.

In 2018 we hit the road down the Pan-American, driving from California to Argentina. That trip catapulted us into the overland world. Tango the. continued the legacy that the Disco started, as we travelled up to the Arctic, across Europe to Turkey, and across Africa from South Africa back to the UK.

To finally have these two vehicles together, on the same continent for the first time ever feels like a huge milestone and perfect start to this next chapter 🧡

The journey through Western Sahara ✨

When we set off on this Africa trip, I made a promise to myself to capture not just the “grand” moments, but also the little, everyday scenes—the tire changes, morning coffees, airing up and down, unique signs, and small details that may not have seemed “Instagram worthy” before but make me truly happy.

Over the years, I’ve realized that there’s an ebb and flow on the road and on social media, and you can lose motivation if you lose inspiration. When I feel this way, I consciously decide to shoot for the joy of it, without thinking about social media. As someone whose life is so intertwined with this little app, I believe it’s crucial not to feel obligated to “capture content” but to simply document our lives as they unfold.

What might look like an “Instagram shot” here has a different motivation now—it’s about having photos for Andy and me, especially of us together, to look back on for the rest of our lives. That’s what has made this trip so special compared to previous ones. I’ve finally found the balance I’ve been searching for, by prioritizing our experience first and social media second.

This shift, even if it means not sticking to a perfect schedule or editing photos immediately, has made all the difference. We don’t “have” to share our adventure with you all—we GET to 🧡

Have you ever felt the same way about capturing your own adventures? Let me know in the comments!

Hello from Nigeria! 🇳🇬

Can’t wait to share more from the Banyo crossing but for now wanted to share we’ve made it in and it is BEAUTIFUL. What a warm welcome in the Nigerian Highlands.

Tougher days ahead as we head out of the mountains and into the hustle and bustle of it all but going to keep pushing through 🫡

What a start to 2024! We made it to Kenya and had one of our closest friends, Brett, fly out to join us for 12 days here.

Day 1/2: We scooped him up at the airport in Nairobi and headed straight for Nanyuki to meet up with of . Jemu is a conservation legend and took us under his wing to show us a place that’s close to his heart: Ol Pejeta. It’s easy to see why he loves it here…and it quickly became one of our favorite parks to date.

Highlights of days 1&2 of 12:
- We crossed the equator, always fun to hit mile markers and even sweeter to do it with such a close friend from home
- Meeting and getting to hang with him
- Visited the chimpanzees
- Learned about and saw the last 2 Northern White Rhinos in the world
- Met, Baraka, the blind Rhino who plays an integral part of conservation and awareness for the conservancy
- And finished it off with the incredible sighting of a family of 5+ lions

After experiencing Ol Pejeta for ourselves, I see why it’s so near and dear to Jemu and I feel incredibly fortunate that he took the time to show us around. What a way to start off the year and what a way to start off our journey around Kenya with Brett!
