A huge congratulations to Kebbie, Willa, and Alexis for summiting the second highest mountain in Tanzania - Mount Meru at 4,562 meters! These strong, dedicated ladies decided last minute to attempt the trek without any preemptive training and all three successfully made it to the top!

It was an honour for our team to work with you ladies. Thank you for putting your trust in us!

Attention coffee lovers!

Do you know how to traditionally prepare coffee? Spoiler: it’s a lot more work than your typical french press but the results are completely worth it!

A huge thank you to Willa for the beautiful photo and to Adanna for demonstrating her top notch stirring skills 👌

Raw. Organic. Nature.

There’s something so special about being submerged in the natural world. Hidden places where modern advancement hasn’t touched. We search out these sites to rejuvenate our spirit, calm our mind, and stimulate our body.

Our reliance on the natural world for emotional, mental, and physical wellness is such an important reason why we must protect these invaluable resources. For our generation and for those who will follow, we must advocate for healthier connections to our planet.

Thank you Willa for this beautiful picture taken during your village tour.

We 💚 market days!

There’s very few places that boast as much personality as a Tanzanian market! Where else can you find such vivid colours and beautiful busyness?

Thanks to Joanna Cockerline for the lovely photo from her city tour 📸

As 2018 comes to an end we can’t help but reflect on the past year. We launched Albizia in July and in four short months we planted four trees in two different communities in the Arusha region. We made friendships that span across the globe and connections that we know will last a lifetime. For all of this, we are immensely grateful!
Looking forward to 2019, we can’t wait to plant even more trees, build more relationships, and encourage more conversations about
Stay tuned, we have a lot of exciting projects coming up this year and we CANNOT wait to share them with you! 🌱

From our family to yours, wishing everyone the happiest of holidays and a very Merry Christmas!

Yesterday these two were on Kilimanjaro. Today, they’re helping us making Arusha a little greener 🌱
We created our One Tree Program to create environmental awareness in our community and connect the importance of environmental conservation and the sustainability of tourism of Tanzania.
This morning we planted two trees, one for Petr and one for Ivan, on the beautiful slopes of Mt Meru. We think it’s the perfect way to celebrate all their hard work and dedication over the past week in conquering Kilimanjaro - congratulations again!

Fun fact Friday: did you know that Tanzania is home to two different giraffe subspecies? 🦒
The Maasai giraffe, pictured here, has more jagged and irregular markings and is the largest giraffe species on the continent. Because of this, it is often referred to as the Kilimanjaro giraffe.
The Rothschild giraffe, named after a London zoologist, is considered one of the most endangered giraffe subspecies in the world. They can be recognized by their geometric and uniform markings which, unlike the Maasai giraffe, fade to white past their knee caps.

In addition to Kilimanjaro tours, we also offer a variety of safari tours. Each tour is personally designed to fit each client’s budget, interests, and time availability.
Our personal favourite at the moment? A two day tour of Tarangire National Park and Lake Manyara National Park.
Day one: Also know as the home of elephants, Tarangire National Park is so diverse that each trip offers a unique new look at the ecosystem of this charming park. September is a wonderful time to visit as the antelope are in abundance! If you’re like us, nothing beats a night out under the African stars. Cap off your day with a cold drink and a soothing fire at the pristine Migombani Campsite overlooking Lake Manyara.

Day 2: Lake Manyara National Park is often bypassed by travellers eagerness to get to the Serengeti. While wildlife viewing is much more difficult here than in Tarangire, nature loves will love this park. The landscape is drastically different from any other park in the region, and varies as you traverse though different circuits in the park. On a hot day you’ll enjoy the shade the dense forest provides and, if your lucky, you’ll be able to spot the infamous tree climbing lions that are exclusive to this park.

Did you know we offer West Kilimanjaro day trip tours?
Yesterday our founders spent the day hiking Lemosho route near Shira 1 camp around 3700 m. This exciting day trip offers beautiful views of the forest en route to the park gate. From there, you travel through moorland and past rocky cliffs by vehicle to the Morum Picnic Site at 3407 m, where you will begin your hike. Even on misty days, this tour offers a great glimpse of what Kilimanjaro has to offer!

Today we launched our OneTree program in efforts to combat climate change and raise awareness of environmental issues. Albizia Tours has committed, from this day forward, to planting one tree in our local community for every client we take up Mount Kilimanjaro.
A special thank you to Emma and Markus for honouring us with their presence and planting their trees the day after battling a very chilly Kilimanjaro. As always, a huge thank you to our crew and especially Mr. Ismaeli for being the first crew member to partake in this program.
Arusha is two trees greener today 💚
