As we enter the heart of the boating season at Lake Anna it’s worth remembering that All PWC operators and motorboat operators of boats registered in Virginia with a motor of 10 horsepower and greater must take a boating safety course.
And for everyone with Boating Safety certification here’s a little test for you to see if you know the regulation we are seeing violated quite a bit out there.
How close is a watercraft permitted to operate to a dock or other stationary craft?
1. 100’
2. 50’
3. Ain’t nobody telling me how to drive.
4. So close I can wake fishermen with my PWC, bro.
Answer: #2. You are restricted to no-wake speed when within 50 feet of docks, piers, boathouses, boat ramps, people in the water, and vessels other than PWC.

We would like to welcome new member Greg Hawkins with Kinetic Multisports. Here's what he had to say about joining LABP.

Kinetic Multisports has been producing triathlons at Lake Anna since 2005 and we wanted to become more involved in the business community. We host 3000 athletes from across the country and around Virginia across our 4 weekends of racing each year and wanted to bring our athletes and the business community closer. We would love to see more Lake Anna area residents race as well as introduce area businesses to our athletes while creating a better race experience for the athletes and the community.
