“Striving is greater than reaching Summit” – Dr. Jorge Egocheaga Rodriguez
A Spanish Dr. Jorge Egocheaga Rodriguez who loves Mountain and Nepalese people immeasurably. Despite of different family background he found separate connection with mountain since the age of nine. From that age, he begun mountaineering journey with “University Climbing Group” of his hometown with complete dedication.
With his full concentration, so far he has climbed all the mountains above “8000 m” of world. Whenever he gets break from profession, he mostly climbed the mountain nearby his hometown known as “Mousacro”. This mountain has its own important role. It is considered as sacred and historical mountain.
Within this “Autumn Season, 2023”, Jorge Dai successfully summited three dangerous Mountain of Nepal i.e. Manaslu, Lobuje and Ama Dablam. He usually used to climb by himself. He said, climbing alone increases self-concentration and focus. He has rescued many climbers who were injured while climbing the mountain. However, this time Jorge Dai has friend “Noelia Ortiz Campa” along with him during the Ama Dablam journey.
Due to his frequent handwork, dedication and immaculate love toward Mountaineering, he succeed the hardest challenge of Climbing the Ama Dablam (6,812m) within Eight hours. On the November 16, 2023, Thursday, he started to climb in early morning at 2:00am from Pangboche and successfully completed summit in 9:00am. He set the new record of fastest person to summit the Ama Dablam. Nevertheless, Jorge Dai says, he does not did it to make any records, he look it as a Challenge. His compassionate affection for Mountain, self-concentration and focus let this thing happen. Mountain boost his strength and helps him to be more focus and confident in life.
He says, it is a wonderful experience to visit Nepal: Climbed Mountain, get connect with snow, freezing air of mountain and peaceful environment. More than that he loves to connect with local people in general. Although, he looks very simple, his thinking is unimaginable. He runs NGO known as “Joelle Ayuda” through which he helps many Nepalese students with education and other required materials for education and health. We salute him for his compassionate thinking and his continues dedication for distributing the rays of education to many students.
Dr.Jorge Egocheaga is an inspirational for many rising mountaineers. We congratulate him for all the achievement he made and wishing best for upcoming fold magical journey.
