Maaemo means Mother Earth in Finnish and for me the food we eat is a gift from Mother Earth. When I'm creating in the kitchen, I feel a strong connection to Mother Earth through the ingredients I use. When I'm working with cacao, I can feel the essence of the cacao plant. The reason for "Maaemo" is also my strong connection to my birthplace, my motherland, Finland. "Maa" means Earth and "emo" mean

s mother. When I create in the kitchen, I feel that I'm expressing myself with sensuality, exploring all the scents, aromas, textures, tastes, etc, with all my senses. You can even find me lathering honey, leftover porridge, cocoa butter, avocado, etc on my skin. If you ever come visit me in my kitchen, you will most likely find me dancing, singing, while I roll balls in maple sugar or while I grind cardamom with my mortar.
