We heard power and water has been restored on the island! 😃 We will be having an electrician come out for some minor repairs before we power back up. Minor shingle damage was fixed today. Thanks for all the well wishes.

Here's some before and after clean up today. Again, really fortunate considering and grateful for the help! We did lose some ridgeline shingles but way less than most and that will be repaired tomorrow. Still no power and no water but we did have some cell service. I'll post some of the really bad damage later. We drove around to eat and cool off and took some pics.

Hey we still feel very fortunate and it's mostly clean up and a few future repairs but some people were asking how to help. If anyone wants to come join Greg and I in Sargent, we are cleaning up today until it gets dark. It looks like we got sprayed by ghostbusters. And almost everyone has work to be done on the island. House did quite well considering. Thankful some great people took these pics for us and helped assess the damage. We feel pretty lucky. No power here or at our Sugar Land house or cell service but plan to drive to the island tomorrow to start the process of clean up. Thanks to those checking on us.

Thanks for all the texts checking on us. Hoping our hurricane windows here and in Sugar Land make the impact minimal. Our lot is high so storm surges usually don't affect us except for pier. Everything loose in both houses put away so now just hoping for the best. We are only on letter B in storms. Stay safe everyone. 💪

For those wondering how we are fairing during the weather event, the tides are very high on island and all of Sargent. Our house is high so is fine but safe to say our pier is under water some on the ICW and our new lots on Caney Creek are as well but aside from some debris line clean up personally we should be ok. Hoping things start to subside soon for everyone

While we were up exploring the Great Smoky Mountains, Uncle Cale had a banner fishing trip at The Pier House. 7 slot red, 1 bull red (released) and 8 black drum... caught from the pier and off the rocks in front of house in the gulf. The San Bernard being opened up has sure boosted our fishing.

Incredible bull red landed by our guests this weekend off the pier. She almost spooled their line but they hopped in their docked boat and chased her down and finally landed her after a half hour. Used cut mullet. Love it!!!!!

Big news! We've finally officially acquired the beach lot directly across the street (the one with mowed path). A boardwalk across is on the agenda! So much growth on the island, we've got to preserve our amazing views.

We are making some updates at The Pier House and figured all our regulars would be excited too! New front, hurricane proof windows installed in living and master. And a new garage is finally on order. We have a new Bluetooth speaker for inside/pier. On the big wish list: a concrete pad along bottom of our adjacent lot for more area for fishing, crabbing and netting that includes a fire pit. What would you like to see added at The Pier House?
