Dampened Enthusiasts Camping, traveling, our love for our Scamp, and the many places we have traveled and explored. Who are the Dampened Enthusiasts and what is this site about?

Lisa and myself, Russ, are the Dampened Enthusiasts, and this site is dedicated to our love of traveling, camping and the many wonderful places we have been fortunate to visit. We thought up the name “Dampened Enthusiasts” during our first camping trip together to Minnesota in 2003. The trip started off hot and muggy, and by the end, we had been rained on during the night, while taking a long ride

on a bike trail, and even while out on Lake Itasca in a canoe; but we didn’t let that dampen our enthusiasm for adventure.

We finally decided to add an awning to our Scamp. I didn't want one to begin with because I was worried about the weight for our Mazda tow vehicle. But I found this one online from Shadyboy Awning in Canada and I knew this would be just what we wanted. It stores small, but extends out to cover most of the side of the Scamp.

We still have our screened tent for those times when we have bugs to hide from, and it WILL get used, but this is great for those sunny spring and fall days when there is no tree cover or bugs.

It was very easy to set up and tear down and the poles wrap up in the awning under the cover.

First outing of the year. Pilot K**b April 2 - 4. Great weather on Saturday, a bit windy and chilly on Friday, and windy on Sunday. Hopefully this will be the first of many this year.

New purchase as of 2020. Nice little folding picnic table with four camp stools. Nice for a little workstation, or a pop up dinning table. Can't believe I found it for $40 at Wal-Mart.
