Disney Cruise Line just received delivery of its newest ship, Treasure, and I’m so excited to sail her on a preview cruise mid-December.

The Treasure will start sailing guests on 7-night Eastern and Western Caribbean itineraries starting December 21st from Port Canaveral. This is the 6th ship in the Disney fleet with two more ships, Destiny and Adventure, sailing starting late 2025.

Just back from a 3-night cruise on Celebrity Reflection which stopped at Coco Cay and Bimini.

Pro tip: Book the beach daybed at Chill Island on Coco Cay for your own dedicated spot in the otherwise crowded beach. Comes with large daybed with a roof and canvas curtains, two lounge chairs, two floats, cooler with 4 bottled waters, and servers will make the rounds frequently for drink orders. I’m not a fan of private islands because I never know where to set up for the day and the crowds are too much. With the reserved daybeds we had our own quiet spot ready and waiting for us and the price was very reasonable.

The Eau Palm Beach
Want a tropical destination without the need for a passport, customs, or foreign currency that has gorgeous beaches and year round warm weather? The perfect destination is Eau Palm Beach in south Florida.

All the rooms overlook the beach and some have patios to walk right out to the pool. Upgrade to club level for food and beverages throughout the day and extra attentive service. The resort is very pet friendly with pet amenities available and kid friendly with kid club and family pool.

Enjoy splashing around with your kids the family pool. Upgrade to a cabana for your own personal space, covered seating, and tv which is perfect for Saturdays in the fall.
Don’t have kids with you? Relax at the quieter adult pool. Food and beverages are served at both pools. The resort has chair and umbrellas available on the beach if you prefer to be as close to the ocean as you can. Pool attendants walk around several times a day with treats for guests. My favorite was the ice cream cookie sandwich.
If you want to keep up with your fitness routine you can sign up for their daily fitness classes or workout in the gym. For the ultimate relaxation book a spa treatment and spend the day in the spa.
Explore Palm Beach. Stroll down Worth Avenue for shopping. Drive A1A with Zillow open and be amazed at the high price tags of the beachfront mansions.

The weather is warm year-round so anytime is a good time to go. High season is December to early spring where you will find higher prices and higher crowds but the best weather. Summer and fall will be less crowded but you have to keep an eye on the tropics and be prepared to pivot in case there’s a storm heading your way.

Took a field trip to Walt Disney World the other day to fully understand Disney’s new Lighting Lane system for my VIP clients.

Walt Disney World just changed their Lighting Lane system and the biggest change is that guests can now choose up to 3 attractions in advance. On-site guests choose 7 days prior to their arrival date for their entire stay while offsite guests and Annual Passholders (like me!) can only book 3 days in advance and one day at a time. Just another reason to stay onsite!

At all the parks except Animal Kingdom you choose 1 attraction from tier 1 (the most popular ones) and 2 from tier 2. This only applies when pre-booking your LL. This system will take time to get used to and understand but here are a few tips and tricks.

1. Book your first attraction for park opening and as soon as you “tap” in to your attraction immediately book from tier 1. A lot of these will book up early so it’s best to start working through tier 1 attractions early.
2. Keep 3 Lightening Lanes at all time. As soon as you “tap” in to your LL immediately grab another one.
3. Modify modify modify! Grab an attraction at whatever time you can and then keep trying to modify the return time. Guests will drop a LL which will go back in to the “pot” where other guests can pick it up. Be sure to have fast fingers as these go in an instant.

Just back from an amazing trip to Disneyland last week with good friends to have fun in the park and run in the Disneyland Half Marathon 🏃‍♀️

If you love Halloween 🎃 then you need to visit Disneyland in the fall 🍁. There are so many Halloween overlays 👻 and music 🎵 throughout the park. Halloween officially starts in late August and runs until October 31st. Some attractions will be down prior to and after these dates to change in or out the overlays.

Disneyland is also very small compared to Walt Disney World as everything is so close together. The two parks, Disneyland and California Adventure, are maybe 100 yards away and the 3 on-site hotels are just on the other side of Downtown Disney. The Grand Californian even has an entrance to California Adventure. And don’t blink as you’ll miss the castle. Also, it’s the park that Walt built.

A trip to Disneyland is a great first trip to Disney as it’s so much easier to plan and less stressful than going to Walt Disney World. McAlpin Travel is an expert at planning trips to both Disney parks and will guide you through the planning process with ease.

Checked out the new Cake Bake Shop on the Boardwalk today and I give it a 10/10! Gorgeous building Stellar service Details details details And the food was really good! It’s pricey but what isn’t expensive at Disney? You can eat in the restaurant or visit the bakery for sweet treats and merchandise. Afternoon tea coming soon! They are still in a soft opening and only walk-up reservations available. We waited about 30 minutes at 12:30 today. Just steps from Santa Teresa on the pacific coast is the area of Mai Pais where you will find Casa Chameleon. It’s a small resort with only 10 rooms located high on a hill so it’s perfect for a romantic getaway. #mcalpintravel #costarica #casachameleon
