Stopped at one of the most famous churches in movie history....seen in the final scene of THE GRADUATE (1967). The Oscar winning film was the 5th highest film of the 1960s (higher than Mary Poppins!). I took some exterior shots and the a delightful woman, Alma let me into the locked church and take photos inside. It was very cool!

Drove out to Tujunga, CA to visit a very famous movie location on Lonzo Drive...the home from E.T. where Elliott Taylor's family lived (and E.T. hung out!). The delightful home owner (home on right) told me when she bought her house it was advertised as being E.T.'s next door neighbor! 1982 & Today!

Fun movie location fact...The home from PRETTY IN PINK (1986) is about 100ft from the location of Michael Myers' HALLOWEEN (1978) house of horrors. South Pasadena, CA

Bonus fact... The Michael Myers home was actually completely moved right across the street and south 100ft (bottom of map on Meridan Ave)

1970s Horror film location fact....Both the Michael Myers' home from HALLOWEEN and the Sawyer home from TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE were saved & moved from their original location.

The Myers house was moved literally across the street (South Pasadena) and the Sawyer home moved to Antlers Hotel in Kingsland, Texas

90 years separate this Then & Now moment from the 1928 Harold Lloyd film, SPEEDY. Location is in the neighborhood of DUMBO (really the name)...for those not familiar it literally means "Down Under the Manhattan Bridge Overpass"...and is one of the hottest areas in Brooklyn (and most expensive!)...well this corner can still use some polish but at least we can compare the buildings nearly a century later...

Anyone remember this place? Here's a Then & Now moment from a 1968 episode of DRAGNET. The Hollywood Ranch Market was one of the first 24hr markets in Hollywood and catered to a celebrity clientele -- including James Dean -- who reportedly spent his final few hours here. Location is on Vine & Fountain Ave.

I was doing some movie location research for the classic film SUNSET BOULEVARD leading me to some Hollywood history fun. Here's the exact spot in 1930 & Today of the beautiful Sunset Medical Building which included Schwab's Pharmacy (just off camera to right). The location is Sunset Boulevard & Laurel Canyon.
