Our Story

About the home L'Espoir has a comfortable and homely feel within oak beams tiled floors two rooms with firepaces, amazing views over the countryside pieceful and relaxing with every comfort you have at home. Situated in one of the sunniest parts of France on the Vendee/Loire borders. L'Espoir with south facing fenced and gated pool and secure gardens offers you uninterupted views over the French countryside. A stoll away from our village of Boisme, where you will find a boulangerie/shop for your morning croissants, freshly baked bread throughout the day, local vegetables cheese & eggs, wine and lots more. The cafe is very friendly and serves meals & drinks. Our Church holds bi-weekly services, everyone welcome. Sit out in the evening after a bbq on the terrasse and see our ink black skies filled with stars enjoying the clean air with a glass of locally produced wine. A short ten minute drive is the town of Bressuire where you will find many restaurants, French Italian Chinese, speciality shops, large hyper marches and pavement cafes 'to watch the world go by' in. L'Espoir is very well equipped for all your comfort and enjoyment. There is four bedrooms accomodating eight + baby, with many original features include charentaise fireplace, with log burning fires in the kitchen and lounge with original floorings. The 1st dining area outside on the terrase overlooks the pool and is covered to provide shade ; ideal for 'Al fresco living, when you dine or relax watching the sun go down with a glass of wine; bought from the producers nearby. As we do not live in France, we have in place an excellent team in our abscence who have been with us for some years, house Manager will be on hand if required during our guests stay. Gaze at the starry night sky... Sleep to the sound of silence... Wake to the sound of bridsong.. and Breathe in the fresh clean air... ....this is the L'Espoir experience Ground floor has two large double bedded rooms and shower room. 1st Floor has two twin bedded rooms and a large family bathroom, fitted to a high standard. The kitchen and the two reception rooms have ceiling fans for comfort and all bedrooms have bedside tables with reading lights and electric fan, essential during the hot months. We offer you the use, at extra cost, Air Condition Units for the upstairs bedrooms, which will keep you cool; especially in the hot summer months. There is a large selection of games,DVDs,video's and books for adults and children alike to enjoy + full UK Sty TV package to view. Further details outdoors: The 3/4 acre garden is fully enclosed and secure for tots to play in it has many fruit trees, pear,peach,olive etc, a large lawned area for ball games with a boule court at the end of the lawn(1 set of boules supplied). The pool area (adjacent to the kitchen door) is tiled with a covered dining table suitable for eight and 2nd seating area with stone table at the bottom of the garden. In the evening the pool area (which conforms to the new French Pool Regulations) and surrounding terrase can be illuminated for evening swimming and entertainment. "Margo" our fountain is also illuminated. ###NEW FOR 2013 A LARGE WOODEN PLAY HOUSE## Further details The swimming pool is open May until September, please note it is not heated. Directions, key instructions etc. will be sent out at the time final balance is paid. Logs supplied at cost. May - September rates do not include central-heating. If baby comes too, we supply the necessary items free of charge - travel cot, high chair,changing mat, stair gates, potty plastic plates and cutlery, listening monitor, blender and much more for the under 5's We prefer Saturday changeovers June-August, however, some flexibility may be possible, please contact us to discuss your personnal needs.
